234 escape rooms
Rating: 2/5 - Not a horrible room but there's very low immersion, nothing much worth checking out Pros: ➕Decent variety of puzzles ➕Set had a few nice props and custom pieces ➕GM was friendly and helpful when needed Could be better: ➖It's essentially only 1 room, with a small area split off, the additional area was sparsely decorated and plain which made the reveal anti-climactic ➖One large, eye catching set piece looked cool but felt underutilized with only one small interaction with it ➖Story was weak and some puzzles didn't fit the theme very well ➖Puzzles were mostly forgettable ➖They're old school and require you to lock up your phone and don't allow unlimited hints or nudges. They take themselves a bit too seriously and don't seem to value having fun like most other escape rooms nowadays. Cons: ➖Very Gen 1, almost all padlocks and no tech, only a single electronic lock. This is their newest room made in 2024 so it's disappointing that it has so little tech. ➖Too many 4 digit locks, so you have to try the combination on multiple until you found the right lock. ➖Low immersion, not enough was done to hide that it's just a rectangular office space since it still had vinyl baseboards, regular painted drywall, and bright ceiling panel lights. There are a lot of puzzles so I'd recommend 3-4 players, but it's playable with 2 if you're experienced. UPDATE: My ranking of Rugged Xscape rooms I've played, however I don't really recommend any room here, I enjoyed my time a lot more at Mission Breakout Lafayette. 1. The Morgue - 3/5 👍 2. Boiler Room - 2.5/5 👍 3. Vanishing Act - 2.5/5 👍 4. Revenge of Dr. Evil - 2/5 👎 5. Jurassic Island - 2/5 👎
