209 escape rooms
The Vanishing Act by Escape World Utrecht was another pleasant surprise. I had recently played Midnight Express at the same location, which already left me impressed, and this one continued in the same high-quality style. We did it as part of a company outing with a team of 5, including 2 complete beginners. Even though Escape World is a franchise, the room felt carefully designed and immersive. The magician’s act theme was executed beautifully, with lighting and sound effects adding a lot to the atmosphere—especially the lighting, which stood out. Each space looked impressive and fit the theme perfectly, giving the whole experience a consistent vibe. The puzzles felt modern and well integrated, with only one padlock in the entire room, which was refreshing. Clues were delivered in a very creative way through a crystal ball you had to touch—another fun, themed detail. We managed to escape with just 1 minute to spare, making for a tense and exciting finish. Recommended for all players, though having someone with prior escape room experience will definitely help make the most of it.
