We love medical themed escape rooms and Red Creek Asylum didnβt disappoint. The attention for detail and the use of combination tech puzzles made our experience spectacular.Big shout out to Iza for being extra helpful.

One of my favourite escape rooms to play in Melbourne.I just want to point out that the last 2 thumbs down reviews for this room and description are not fair and not true. Those 2 accounts that like to review together belong to game masters that work for Curium Escape Rooms. They have been wreaking havoc leaving bad reviews for their competitors. They also mix it up by giving thumbs up and hearts, along with hidden toxicity and bad reviews.

Having now played Red Creek Asylum and closing out all the rooms at Extreme Escape it pains me to say that this was the weakest of the bunch. A promising, spooky idea on paper the execution didnβt really land with me as the puzzles (while multilinear) felt muddled with our objective becoming increasingly obscure as we navigated through a series of underwhelming solves. While some were straightforward, others contained strange leaps in logic that felt really inconsistent from the story the room was trying to tell. Marketed as a high tech room we found it difficult to get a lot of these puzzles to work/trigger correctly upon the first attempt, hearing vague electronic beeps with seemingly nothing opening and changing around us, it become pretty laborious around the half hour mark. Set dressing felt varied with some cool props to play around with balanced out with some real lazy and vaguely βmedicalβ bits and pieces thrown in. Standard. Overall just didnβt evoke joy and youβre better off spending your money on Darkness Falls at their other venue in Richmond.

Yeesh. Going by some of the positive reviews I was hoping to enjoy this one but was left very let down by the actual product. The room claims to be "high tech" and while there is some tech in the room it's still got a fair spread of locks and most of the tech is pretty old school. Also covered in "do not touch" stickers and others to tell you what cupboards/drawers are going to pop open, some real immersion killing stuff. It is quite multi-linear and while this isn't an issue generally, the room did lack any sense of direction or story-driven purpose. Very few puzzles felt like they related well and instead tended to fall the way of "puzzles in room because puzzle room". Set design is also pretty average, I feel like a hospital vibe isn't too hard to capture and was still pretty underwhelming. For a room that has been flipped recently I was expecting a lot more, I actually preferred the one they had here previously. Don't waste your time.

This game is fun and has some clever puzzles and tech/mechanics in it, The puzzles make sense once you make the connection, the only problems me and my friend had was search fails =P For one of the puzzles, I feel like it can be clued better as there is currently no indication that you have to perform two tasks at the same time.
Puzzles are well integrated with the story.
