Nemesis: A New Life by Try2Escape Rheine was the 5th escape room of our Germany tour and the 3rd of the day, with the same group of 3 players. This is not a traditional escape room—it’s a high-score experience, where the goal is to earn as many points as possible across a variety of physical and mental mini-games. The setup feels more like a futuristic game show, with a strong sci-fi vibe and immersive environmental design. Some of the activities were fun and engaging, but a couple felt slightly off—whether due to hardware sensitivity or unclear mechanics, it’s hard to tell. Still, the format offers a unique twist for teams wanting something competitive and different. Currently, the entire experience is only available in German, which was the lowest point of the experience for us. Fortunately, one of our team members is fluent in German—without that, it would have been nearly unplayable. We were told that an English version is planned for the future, which would significantly improve accessibility and enjoyment. It’s worth noting that the overall feel leans more toward a franchise product than a personal passion project—it’s well-produced but lacks that handcrafted charm you sometimes find in smaller, story-driven experiences. Despite the language barrier, we had a good time and registered as Cat Oracles, finishing 7th on the 3-player leaderboard and 68th overall, which was a satisfying way to wrap it up. Also the photo moment was nicely done. Recommended for teams looking for a competitive, non-traditional escape experience—ideally with at least one German speaker for now.
