95 escape rooms
This one was rough. While the room itself is difficult, the hard thing with it was that the GM paid no attention to our game and had no clue what was going on. They had this gimmick that you had to hold hands and sing a Christmas song to get a clue, which I’m sure they thought was cute. We played along the first time, but when it resulted in no clue, we quickly gave up on that. Partway through the room, we were solving a puzzle that required being able to hear. Between the Christmas music playing from the screen and the kids-no exaggeration- screaming their heads off right outside the door, we couldn’t hear anything. We asked that she turn the Christmas music down… no response. We asked for a clue a second time… no response. A third time… no response. We got the clue on the fourth time… and it was for a puzzle we had already started solving, but didn’t have all the pieces for. We kept going on the room, but we were stymied. The thing is, I know that part of it was my brain was not fully engaged and we were struggling to solve things we should have been able to solve, but the fact that ALL THREE of the clues we asked for, we had to ask AT LEAST twice (the second clue was the only one we had to ask for four times). The final clue, she actually came into the room to see what was going on. It was a very frustrating experience overall.
Gameplay
One puzzle at a time… sort of? Some confusing timing.
Atmosphere
Fun, but simple
Customer service
The GM was peppy and energetic… but paid zero attention. We had to ask for clues multiple times before we got one, and two of the three clues we got were useless (one because it made zero sense and the other because we had already figured that puzzle out AND we didn’t have all of the pieces for it yet).
