The federal prison of Alcatraz, surrounded by the waters of San Francisco Bay, housed some of America's most dangerous and notorious felons. Few have unsuccessfully tried to escape, and even more attempts continue despite the ominous odds. As guards, your responsibility is to maintain the security of the facility, but that’s not always an easy task with a careless Warden in charge. After returning from his rounds to his office, the Warden discovers that his keys have gone missing! As rookie guards, you can make your mark early in your career by finding the missing keys before any prisoners use them to escape. Search the prison, find the keys, and save the ironclad reputation of Alcatraz! Prison protocol indicates that you have 60 minutes to secure the Warden's keys or the prison will have to go into lockdown. If you can figure out how and why the keys went missing, you may even be able to stop a group of prisoners from escaping the island! Get to work, guards!

63 escape rooms

I went here with a friend that’s also willing to do just about any escape room. We expected really bad rooms based on reviews but were pleasantly surprised! If you’ve done a lot of rooms, you’ve seen better. These are “Gen 1” locks on boxes rooms. They’re not innovative or immersive, but the puzzles are clear and everything worked. We asked for one clue and it was our fault for not trying hard enough. The answers are there without guessing. This is a franchise and maybe this location is really good compared to others, but we had a great time. If you’re bringing someone that’s never done an escape room, this probably shouldn’t be their first. If you’re already a fan, this room was a nice snack between other rooms. If this was your first room, branch out! They can be so much cooler!

Gameplay

Physical locks ensured you knew what puzzle was unsolved. The gameplay was linear and a clunky, but the simplicity made it easier to understand.

Atmosphere

Very simple effects. All physical decorations felt like they came from Aliexpress or an army surplus store. They get the theme across, but just barely. Single rooms. No tech.

Customer service

By far the best part was Emerson our game master. He was polite, positive, and engaging without being weird about anything.

Particularly interesting or different

No

This is a very basic room. We did one other while here and unless the rest make a dramatic change they’re all simple and old. They’re “gen 1” with physical locks and most puzzles inside a box.
