This room may not be everyone's cup of tea. (Especially if you don't play video games). But we loved it. If anyone's played the video game "lover's in a dangerous space-time" with friends, it's more or less that. A video game controlled by many people at the same time jumping from control console to control console around the room. For a single room experience it is pretty solid decor was nice. We ended up setting the app time record for the room. It didn't hurt that we had an expert pilot in our group (still in awe of your maneuvering, Tim)

Gameplay

Flowed like a video game

Atmosphere

Cool set.

Customer service

Ursula was great. (Didn't hurt to have a thematic name)

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

Story

Story was fun. Maybe a little too straightforward. Nothing was ever unexpected and no twists.

Difficulty

Easy

Difficulty is directly affected by how comfortable your team is with video games

Game tech

High tech

Ideal number of players

4

Only do this room with 3-4. There are 5 primary stations. And part of the fun is the team running from station to station when needed. We set the record with 4 people but if we had 5 it would have felt pretty boring at times.

Scary

Not scary

Minimum age

6

Pretty accommodating for a few younger players. (Stick them on a station and let them have at it)

Was anything broken?

No

A prop malfunction would have killed this room. Thankfully everything worked precisely

Live actors

No

Physically active

Not at all

Accessibility

Pretty accessible actually need some dexterity to move a few pounds of force back and forth in front of you but not much more than that

Easy to find location

Yes

Parking

Medium

Paid garage nearby

I don’t really understand the bad reviews for this room. We enjoyed the experience and the set design for this one room experience, it was fantastic. That said, it’s more of an adventure and less of an escape room. You’re pretty much playing a team video game with simple tasks along the way. It was still enjoyable.

The game was fun, I now understand why the website says its for gamers. If you are looking for a traditional escape room this room is not for you, but if you like more video game vibes than you might enjoy this. It was mostly button mashing, no locks and keys to use. A bit of the same feel of the millennium falcon ride at Disneyland where someone is the pilot and another on guns etc. Pooja was a great gamemaster though! Very personalable and great customer service. Ive heard great things about Red Door so if I am ever in the area again I will definitely try one of the more traditional escape rooms next time.

Gameplay

If you don't have a large group its a lot of running around from gun to gun

Atmosphere

The room is very well put together, the majority of the gameplay is on a screen

Customer service

Pooja was a great gm we all got along really well

Really more of a multiplayer video game experience than an escape room. Admire the ingenuity but it just doesn't really come off well. Additionally, the lobby is sparse and soulless and the audio in the room was low enough it made it hard to hear the narrator. I love new folks trying new things, just didn't quite work this time.

This is definitely a game that emulates a video game and has each player toggle between different functions in order to collaboratively progress. (Think: something akin to Star Trek where each player needs to assume a station in order to steer the ship and engage with one's surroundings). Definitely requires communication, patience, and teamwork. Bring a group you're well coordinated with or you may end up getting flustered and turning on each other. πŸ˜…
