91 escape rooms

Not our favorite game at Masters of Escape. The concept is laid out well, and there are a lot of fun and interesting aspects to it. However, there is so much "design" in some of the rooms that it's overly challenging just to know what we're supposed to be doing, and how we're supposed to be doing it. The design at times overwhelmed the actual game play. However, if we could play it again in a different frame of mind it might go differently. A good game overall.

Gameplay

This game is put together very well and captures the Willy Wonka experience nicely. However, the puzzles, and what we were supposed to be doing at a couple of points was very confusing and left "a bad taste in our mouths."

Atmosphere

Set design was outstanding and props were a lot of fun. That is definitely the highlight of the room.

Customer service

Excellent staff and a helpful GM. The GM guided us through a couple of puzzles when we had the right solution but the tech didn't do what it was supposed to.

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

Great set design and a couple of uniques effects.

Story

The story was consistent and well integrated to the puzzles and the overall objective.

Difficulty

Medium

The puzzles themselves were not very difficult. Knowing what to do at any point was the greater challenge. If it flowed more smoothly then I would have rated it "easy". At times the design overrode the puzzles and unnecessarily added to the difficulty.

Game tech

High tech

Mostly high tech.

Ideal number of players

4

We played with six. When we were stumped we were all stumped and an increased number of players wouldn't have helped. However, the game seemed very linear and when we were working puzzles we had players underutilized.

Scary

Not scary

It's Willy Wonka!

Minimum age

8

The Willy Wonka theme and set design seem to be an excellent draw for younger players. Figuring out the puzzles might be a stretch for players any younger.

Was anything broken?

No

However, we had to finesse a puzzle to make it work properly (we had the correct solution but it just wasn't working correctly). The GM stepped in to help with this.
