2 escape rooms
I'm an avid Monkey Island fan and I loved the references. Sometimes knowing the game seemed like a hindrance, and sometimes it helped. Decor was great and with lots of Monkey Island references. Puzzles were more independent of the game franchise, which makes sense, since not every player is friends with Guybrush Threepwood. I was the first player to play the game in English (Unna is perhaps not a very touristy town, and I went out of my way to get there to play the escape room), and this showed. There were some issues with the translations, but I had a German cohort and is somewhat proficient myself, so it didn't matter too much, and I'm sure they've ironed out the kinks since them. Is it the most genius escape room I've ever been to? No. But it sure is fantastic to be encompassed in the Monkey Island vibe, and I recommend it to every fan.
Gameplay
It was a little bit staggered, but I blame my own exhaustion on that.
Atmosphere
There was a grog machine. Enough said.
Customer service
Very welcoming staff.
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
The Monkey Island theme is particularly interesting to those that love the game. For the rest it's probably just a little weird pirate themed room.
Story
I wished it was a little bit more whimsical, like the games themselves.
