There are whispers among the bravest of pirates, murmurs that echo only in the darkest corners of the seas. It is a tale so cursed, so sinister, that even those who dare speak of it do so in hushed voices. The story tells of a crew lost to the depths, of betrayal, vengeance, and a treasure so great it has driven men to madness. Who am I, you ask? My name is Kael Swiftfingers, and I intend to uncover this legend once and for all. For within the heart of this tale lies the ultimate prize—the Compass of the Deep. A compass unlike any other, forged not to guide its bearer across known waters, but to lead them to the greatest treasures hidden beneath the waves. The key to fortune and power beyond imagining. The story begins with a pirate captain whose name has been erased from history, a man so consumed by the call of the deep that even the infamous Davy Jones refused to speak it. This captain sought the forbidden, and his hunger led him to strike a deal with none other than Temetra, the voodoo priestess of the Emerald Isles. He freed her from her cursed prison, and in return, she crafted for him a compass imbued with otherworldly magic. But the captain was as treacherous as the seas he sailed. After claiming the compass, he betrayed Temetra, leaving her curse unfinished. Enraged, the priestess bound the compass with a terrible vengeance. It is said the compass turned on its master, pulling him and his entire crew to the ocean’s depths, where they remain trapped in an endless cycle of mutiny, cannon fire, and despair. Some say that on the stormiest of nights, you can hear the roar of their cannons and the screams of the cursed crew, desperate to reclaim the compass and end their torment. But no pirate has ever dared follow those sounds to their source—no one, until now. And why am I the one to take on this deadly endeavor? Because Temetra’s blood runs through my veins, and her magic courses through me. I am the only one who can wield the compass, to unlock its secrets and lead us to treasures that will rewrite the legends of the seas. But I cannot do it alone. We must first venture to Rogue’s Cove, where the path begins. The cove, a place where pirates bury their sins and treasure alike, holds the key to finding the sunken ship and its cursed crew. There, we will gather the fragments of the legend, piecing together the clues needed to end the curse and seize the compass. But beware—the cove is no sanctuary. It is a battleground of betrayal, where shadows whisper of danger and the ghosts of the past guard their secrets fiercely. The journey will test your courage and your loyalty. The cursed crew will not yield easily, and to end their suffering, we must help them finish what they started—the ultimate mutiny. Together, we will face the cannons, the curses, and the wrath of the seas to claim the compass and release them from their torment. Are you ready to sail into the unknown, to brave the darkness of the depths and rewrite the legends? The road begins with the tales of Old Benny Bones himself. He may be mad, but his ramblings hold the first clue. So, who’s with me? Time is short, and fortune favors the bold. The compass calls to us—will you answer?

Definitely one of the better escape rooms we’ve done. Extremely interactive, lots of animatronics, projections, and detail throughout. Felt as if you were aboard the pirate ship with a skeleton crew. Super fun, will be back when the rest of the rooms are completed.

This escape room was incredible! Some of the coolest puzzles and best graphics, features, and locks that I’ve done! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great escape room experience! You are completely immersed in the world of the room! Very cool, they’ve gone above and beyond with this room! Can’t wait for the others they create!
This was INCREDIBLE! The best room we’ve done in Utah! This is what an escape room experience should be like!

I can’t say enough good things about this room! Think Pirate’s of the Caribbean at Disneyland good. This is a dream come true for any Enthusiast, because it has a top notch set design and challenging puzzles! This is one of Utah’s best games! A must play!

The buildout for this room is incredible. Top notch from beginning to end. This felt like a theme park experience. The puzzles were challenging and there were always puzzles for everyone in our group of 4 to be working on. We did not communicate as a group as well as we could have, which made some of the puzzles more challenging than they needed to be as someone would find something but others were not aware. The game masters were so friendly and welcoming and made us feel so welcome. The theme was oozing through every puzzle and every stage of the room. This immediately jumps in to my top 3 rooms ever done, as it was so well done. The special effects, and set design and props were all stellar!!
Set design and special effects and props were where this room shined!
The staff was amazing! We felt very valued as guests!

The story was excellent and made the whole experience so much more rewarding!
Hard
I would rate it as a hard room, with puzzles that were unique and challenging and a huge variety of puzzles.
High tech
It had a little of both, but the tech was a little more than the mechanical!

Anywhere from 4-6 would be great for this room!

Ahoy, puzzle lovers! My sister and I (a.k.a. Team We Be Solvin’) recently took on Rogue’s Cove at Escape Hour, and it was nothing short of legendary. 🏴☠️ From the moment we started our quest, we were transported. The immersion was next-level — it didn’t feel like a game, it felt like we were stepping into a living, breathing pirate world. The attention to detail was phenomenal, and every twist kept us fully engaged. The puzzles? Chef’s kiss. Creative, well-integrated, and super satisfying to solve. We’ve done our share of escape rooms, and this one had fresh ideas that really stood out from the rest. And let’s talk about the crew — Matt and Drew were absolutely fantastic. You can tell they love what they do, and they go out of their way to make every group feel welcome and hyped. Grace was great too — friendly, helpful, and totally in on the fun. Escape Hour isn’t just a game — it’s an experience. If you want to be challenged, wowed, and fully immersed, this is the place to go. We’ll definitely be back to uncover more secrets!
The gameplay in Rogue’s Cove was top-tier from start to finish. The puzzles were extremely well-designed — clever, varied, and deeply integrated into the environment. Nothing felt random or out of place; every solution felt like it belonged in the world of the room. What really stood out was how immersive the gameplay felt. It wasn’t just about unlocking boxes — it was about discovering hidden mechanisms, solving story-driven challenges, and making choices that felt meaningful within the pirate narrative. The room had great pacing, with a strong build-up, satisfying reveals, and a finale that really delivered. There was a great balance of logic puzzles, hands-on tasks, and clever observation-based challenges. It encouraged teamwork without ever feeling frustrating or repetitive. In short: it was immersive, innovative, and incredibly fun to play. For puzzle lovers or escape room regulars, Rogue’s Cove delivers a gameplay experience that’s both challenging and rewarding.
The atmosphere in Rogue’s Cove was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we stepped inside, we were transported into a fully realized pirate world. The set design was incredibly detailed — aged wood, ship-like structures, ambient lighting, and sound effects that made it feel like the sea was just outside the door. Every corner of the room felt purposeful and in character. There were no modern elements to pull us out of the experience — everything from the props to the textures to the transitions between puzzles was cohesive and immersive. The lighting and audio design were especially strong — moody but not too dark, dramatic but never overbearing. It created just the right sense of tension and mystery without ever becoming frustrating or cheesy. Escape Hour clearly puts serious thought into the story and world-building, and Rogue’s Cove shows what’s possible when immersion is treated as just as important as the puzzles. It felt like we were in a movie set — and we never once stopped buying into the world we were in.
From start to finish, we were treated with genuine warmth and enthusiasm by the Escape Hour team. Matt and Drew were incredible — welcoming, engaging, and clearly passionate about creating a top-tier experience for every group that walks through the door. You can tell they truly care, not just about the rooms they’ve built, but about the people playing them. They struck the perfect balance between professional and fun. We felt like valued guests, not just customers. They took time to chat with us after the game, shared behind-the-scenes insights, and made the whole experience feel personal and memorable. Grace was wonderful too — friendly, upbeat, and totally invested in making sure we had a great time. Everyone we interacted with made us feel seen, hyped, and appreciated. It’s rare to find an escape room where the people are just as impressive as the puzzles — but that’s exactly what Escape Hour delivers. We left not only feeling accomplished, but genuinely cared for. We can’t wait to return.

Having done our fair share of escape rooms, we can confidently say that the gameplay at Escape Hour is on a different level. Rogue’s Cove didn’t just give us puzzles — it gave us a fully integrated, story-driven experience where every challenge felt like part of the world. What sets it apart is how organic and immersive the gameplay is. Instead of just solving a series of disconnected tasks, each puzzle flowed naturally into the next and was grounded in the room’s pirate theme. We weren’t just unlocking boxes — we were uncovering secrets, interacting with our environment in creative ways, and progressing through an unfolding story. The room also avoided the common trap of overused puzzle types. There were fresh mechanics, clever physical interactions, and moments that genuinely surprised us — all while staying intuitive and fair. Another standout difference: it never felt like a “game master was watching us” kind of experience. The design gave us agency, and when we solved something, it felt earned. That kind of thoughtful, player-centered design is rare — and it shows that Escape Hour truly understands what makes escape rooms memorable. If you’re used to the standard lock-and-box experience, prepare to level up. This is escape room gameplay with heart, brains, and serious craft.
One of the most impressive things about Rogue’s Cove was the strength of its storyline. From the very beginning, we weren’t just players solving puzzles — we were characters dropped into a fully developed pirate tale, with real stakes and purpose behind every challenge. The narrative unfolded naturally as we moved through the room. Clues and puzzles didn’t just exist for the sake of gameplay — they told the story. Each discovery pulled us deeper into the world, and every solved task felt like we were uncovering a piece of a bigger mystery. What really made it shine was the way the story was woven into the environment and progression. It wasn’t something explained in a paragraph at the start and forgotten — it was dynamic, evolving, and kept us emotionally engaged. We weren’t just escaping a room; we were trying to survive a pirate betrayal, uncover hidden truths, and navigate a rich, cinematic world. It gave the experience a sense of adventure and cohesion that’s rare in escape rooms. We left feeling like we’d lived a story, not just played a game.
Hard
I’d say it was between medium and hard. The puzzles were unique, yet very solvable and the “clues” were well done
Mechanical
It’s a mix of both, actually. There were projections and screens, as well as some fiber optic lights and effects. There were a bunch of interactive animatronics.
We did it with 2, but I feel like 4-6 would be kinda perfect as well.
Not scary
Think Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean - not really scary, but there are skeletons and some loud noises.

Everything worked pretty well!
The game master gets you started, but then the “live” actors are actually not people in the room with you …
Somewhat
We did run back and forth a little, and I knelt down for a few of the puzzles, but I wouldn’t call it too physical
There’s walking around, one step up/down into a room, and a little ramp into another, and one puzzle is a bit high that you might need to use the provided step stool

Easy
Plenty of parking in front, and across the way. I’d suggest parking to the east and crossing the road, just so it’s easy to get in and out.

“By the depths, this be no mere escape room—this be an adventure fit for legends!” I had the rare privilege o’ joinin’ the beta test of this pirate escape room, and let me tell ye, mates… it ain’t like any escape room ye’ve ever laid eyes on. Nay, this be 1000 stars if the charts allowed it. From the moment we stepped aboard, it felt like steppin’ into the likes o’ Disney or Universal Studios themselves. The set design be jaw-droppin’—real wood planks beneath yer boots, creakin’ riggin’ above, and a cursed cove lit by lanterns flickerin’ with ghostly fire. The attention to detail would make Walt himself clap in admiration. But the magic ain’t just in the looks—no, this place breathes story. The puzzles ain’t thrown in for sport—they’re part of the legend. Each clue pulls ye deeper into a tale of betrayal, cursed gold, and forgotten crew. The effects? Real cannons, thunderin’ audio, and surprises that’ll make even the saltiest dog jump. This ain’t just escapin’ a room. It’s livin’ a movie. If ye be thinkin’ it’s just another padlock-and-blacklight shack, turn back now. But if ye’ve ever dreamt o’ sailin’ into the unknown, facin’ ancient curses, and comin’ out a legend—this be the voyage ye seek. Mark me words—ye don’t want to miss this. Gather yer crew and prepare to be amazed. This be pirate adventure at the highest caliber.
