There are whispers among the bravest of pirates, murmurs that echo only in the darkest corners of the seas. It is a tale so cursed, so sinister, that even those who dare speak of it do so in hushed voices. The story tells of a crew lost to the depths, of betrayal, vengeance, and a treasure so great it has driven men to madness. Who am I, you ask? My name is Kael Swiftfingers, and I intend to uncover this legend once and for all. For within the heart of this tale lies the ultimate prize—the Compass of the Deep. A compass unlike any other, forged not to guide its bearer across known waters, but to lead them to the greatest treasures hidden beneath the waves. The key to fortune and power beyond imagining. The story begins with a pirate captain whose name has been erased from history, a man so consumed by the call of the deep that even the infamous Davy Jones refused to speak it. This captain sought the forbidden, and his hunger led him to strike a deal with none other than Temetra, the voodoo priestess of the Emerald Isles. He freed her from her cursed prison, and in return, she crafted for him a compass imbued with otherworldly magic. But the captain was as treacherous as the seas he sailed. After claiming the compass, he betrayed Temetra, leaving her curse unfinished. Enraged, the priestess bound the compass with a terrible vengeance. It is said the compass turned on its master, pulling him and his entire crew to the ocean’s depths, where they remain trapped in an endless cycle of mutiny, cannon fire, and despair. Some say that on the stormiest of nights, you can hear the roar of their cannons and the screams of the cursed crew, desperate to reclaim the compass and end their torment. But no pirate has ever dared follow those sounds to their source—no one, until now. And why am I the one to take on this deadly endeavor? Because Temetra’s blood runs through my veins, and her magic courses through me. I am the only one who can wield the compass, to unlock its secrets and lead us to treasures that will rewrite the legends of the seas. But I cannot do it alone. We must first venture to Rogue’s Cove, where the path begins. The cove, a place where pirates bury their sins and treasure alike, holds the key to finding the sunken ship and its cursed crew. There, we will gather the fragments of the legend, piecing together the clues needed to end the curse and seize the compass. But beware—the cove is no sanctuary. It is a battleground of betrayal, where shadows whisper of danger and the ghosts of the past guard their secrets fiercely. The journey will test your courage and your loyalty. The cursed crew will not yield easily, and to end their suffering, we must help them finish what they started—the ultimate mutiny. Together, we will face the cannons, the curses, and the wrath of the seas to claim the compass and release them from their torment. Are you ready to sail into the unknown, to brave the darkness of the depths and rewrite the legends? The road begins with the tales of Old Benny Bones himself. He may be mad, but his ramblings hold the first clue. So, who’s with me? Time is short, and fortune favors the bold. The compass calls to us—will you answer?

9 escape rooms

Great room theming. The room was very immersive and contained components I have never seen from any other escape room. That being said, the room gave us a lot of hints and clues that we did not ask for. We were maybe only three minutes into the room still exploring and a clue was given to us when we had barely any time to figure things out for ourselves! Yes, at some points in the room we were a bit stuck and the unwanted clues weren’t as bad, but at a lot of parts we were a bit babied and just told what to do with these hints. Also, this is a non-liner room, meaning you don’t need to do one thing to continue. This concept was fun as multiple people could all be working on different things at the same time, but this also led to people starting to do puzzles that were already done and did cause some people to miss parts of the story since they weren’t there to help complete something. However, all in all this was a very good room and would recommend!

Gameplay

It was definitely a fun room. Lots of puzzles were some that I had never seen done before, making it felt like a totally different escape room than all the other pirate ones.

Atmosphere

Very immersive. At some parts you even felt like you weren’t actually in an escape room and more an experience.

Customer service

Staff was very kind and helpful!

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

Definitely much different and more in depth than almost every other pirate escape room I’ve done.

Story

The story was a bit lack-luster. There was a big story element given at the start of the room telling us about the treasure we were looking for and its purpose. But after that the story kinda fell off. The puzzles were kinda just there, without any reason for them being there. They’re definitely people who don’t care about the story and just want to do puzzles, but I do enjoy it when the puzzles have a meaning. For example, if there’s a map. Why is the map there and what was it used for. I think including these types of things add a bit more depth to a room.

Difficulty

Medium

Some puzzles were a bit challenging, but for the most part we didn’t get truly stuck on any puzzle.

Game tech

High tech

Very high tech. The room included animatronics that clearly had a lot of work put into them.

Ideal number of players

5

There is a lot to do so having a smaller group might make it a bit difficult, but having too many would definitely just make the room too chaotic.

Scary

Not scary

Besides from many skeletons and dark parts this room was not the scariest.

Accessibility

There were a few parts where the floor changed level, but nothing too extreme. There were multiple color-associated puzzles and the room was quite dark for the most part. The animatronics would talk and speak to you and would sometimes include instructions crucial to solving the room.

Hi Warren! We were literally just talking about how impressive your team was — you flew through the room with almost no help from us at all! In fact, you finished with one of the fastest times we’ve ever seen. The way you all communicated and solved puzzles was incredible, and it was such a joy to host your group. We totally hear your feedback about the hints, and we really appreciate you sharing it. What might have felt like “clues” were actually built-in story moments — they don’t give away solutions, and your progress was 100% all you. You definitely weren’t “babied”… you were just that good! Like so impressive! Thank you for highlighting the theming and uniqueness of the experience — that means the world to us, since we aim to deliver More Than An Escape Room®. If there’s anything we can do to make your next experience even better, or earn a ❤️ on this review, please don’t hesitate to reach out at [email protected] We had an absolute blast with your group, and we’d love to see you all back for another adventure soon. Huge congrats again — you guys crushed it and I'm sure we will be talking about your group for a long time. Bravo! 👏 — The Escape Hour Vineyard Team ❤️

Best escape room in Utah! So detailed, immersive and tons of puzzles. It was like Disney's Pirates of the Carribean with all attention to details, set design and animatronics. Fantastic puzzles as well. There were puzzles we'd never encountered before. Great for families - our kids 10 and 13 had a lot they could do and help out with.

What a fantastic time! We loved every moment in the room, and couldn't stop chatting about it after we left. It is the best escape room that I've ever done, and has inspired me to create an account here to give them the love they deserve for their work. This is very well executed, and they should be proud of the work they have put into this.

There was a little bit of walking, and two slight elevation changes, but nothing too serious.

I’m a huge pirate fan and love Disney. After reading reviews I was skeptical but let me tell, it blew my mind. I felt like a kid that was transported to tartuga and for 60 min I was a pirate.

Gameplay

I’ve never experienced a perfectly crafted set of puzzles until this experience!

Atmosphere

This isn’t just an escape room. It’s more like a ride at Disney. I don’t want to live there.

Customer service

The staff went above and beyond. You can tell they care more about the customers experience then anything else. Amazing

I was looking for an escape room to take a friend for her birthday. I read the awesome reviews that compared it to The Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland and had to see it for myself. It was even better than I anticipated! We had so much fun. Everything was so immersive and there were a few things I had never seen used in an escape room before. We loved the attention to detail and all the fun animatronics. The owner Drew is super awesome and invited me to watch from the game master room when I took my family to escape the room three days later... yes, I took my husband and three sons back just 3 days later because I was so impressed and knew my family would love it too! We can't wait to see the next rooms they open up!

Definitely one of the better escape rooms we’ve done. Extremely interactive, lots of animatronics, projections, and detail throughout. Felt as if you were aboard the pirate ship with a skeleton crew. Super fun, will be back when the rest of the rooms are completed.

Thank you for the fantastic review of Rogue's Cove. We're glad you enjoyed the interactivity and immersive details throughout the room. Our team had a great time designing the animatronics and projections to help bring the pirate ship to life, so it’s great to hear that it made you feel like part of the crew. We’ll be excited to welcome you back once the rest of the rooms are ready.
