Lab Rat takes place in a laboratory where giant rats are doing odd experiments on human beings, specifically you! The somewhat unhinged Ratkenstein, a doctoral student in the field of human intelligence (or, in his estimation, the lack thereof), has tasked you with completing a series of tests and puzzles. If you succeed, he can finally write his dissertation. If you fail, heβs going to put you and your friends in the old test-subject chipper (like a wood chipper, but for test subjects!). Youβll have one hour to complete the tests and attempt to get out of the laboratory for good, before Ratkenstein turns you into mulch!

Iβve been wanting to do this room for a while, but I was waiting to go with the right people. It definitely did not disappoint. Very awesome design of the room. Good balance of tricky and easy puzzles. We were treating well by the game master Michael. Loved this room.

I visited this escape room a few months ago with a group of friends and, unfortunately, found the experience underwhelming. The room design is highly linear, allowing only one puzzle to be solved at a time. While the venue advertises a capacity of up to 12 participants, the format is far better suited for a much smaller groupβperhaps 3 to 4 peopleβgiven the limited opportunities for simultaneous engagement. Additionally, the game masterβs demeanor detracted from the overall experience. She spoke to us as if we were five years oldβoverly simplistic, patronizing, and unnecessarily controlling. Even before we entered the room, she addressed us in a condescending tone, and throughout the experience, she frequently interjected, accusing us of being βtoo roughβ with props that appeared outdated and fragile. The set/room itself seemed worn and in need of maintenance or updates, almost like it hasnβt been updated since its opening. For $74 per person, itβs just not worth the hassle.

VERY LINEAR!!!! I was really excited about this one. I even got together with a bunch of friends to setup a full day to go to LA for escape rooms. We got matching shirts and everything. When we got to the place the guy told us that they were having some difficulties and management wasn't helping. This was our first warning. He also said he might have to come in and "help" (which he did twice because stuff was broken). The game was ok. Some puzzles were not reset, a couple times the guy had to say "don't touch that I'll tell you when later", when he had to come "help" we lost extra time. The effects were cool and the puzzle had some creativity but we won't be back and I wouldn't recommend it.
He was ok but seemed over worked and fighting with management.

Not sure if I can review this or not. They didnβt show up to our prepaid and confirmed reservation on time, they didnβt contact us, they came 5 minutes late and said they couldnβt accommodate us. Terrible customer service. Unfortunately I donβt plan to return.

Finally got to do this escape room and I got to say it lived up to its reputation. It didn't disappoint at all. From the production set to the storyline to our GM, everything was crafted with passion. I was very impressed. This has got to be one of my favorite escape rooms of all time. Ohh, and I remember our GM telling us that we didn't break the all-time record for Labrat, but our team did get the best record so far for the year 2025. π₯³

Very unique game with several really cool and creative puzzles that I've never seen before, and an awesome set design. It plays linearly and is very challenging - we had 4 players with a lot of escape room experience and that felt like the right amount where we could solve puzzles but nobody was stuck doing nothing.

Not super accessible. Requires at least one player to climb. Several puzzles required good vision in low lighting and an ability to differentiate colors.

The perfect escape room experienceβone of, if not THE, best weβve ever done! Nothing but praise and I canβt think of anything that could have been better. Our GM Anthony was especially wonderful and was so kind and fun!

Absolutely stunning props and theme. This one is actually doable as a pair! Youβve just got a lot of ground to cover π a-maze-ing!

This roomβs been on my wishlist for almost a decade now and we finally played it and it does live up to its hype. We were immediately immersed into storytelling once we entered. The puzzles were straight forward, unique and satisfying to solve. The set design in the space was fun to explore. I liked how they used the space. I was like a kid in a toy store. Thomas was our host and he was great!

There was a workaround for one of the puzzles. Our host just had to enter the room and reset the puzzle when we got to that part. It didnβt ruin the experience at all
