The year is 1900, and a new century is dawning—a century that will be defined by invention, progress, and power. At the heart of this technological revolution stand two of the greatest minds the world has ever known: Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla. Brilliant yet bitter rivals, these inventors have spent years vying for dominance, their names etched into the annals of science, their genius unquestioned. But now, the battle for the future has reached its most pivotal moment yet. An exclusive invitation-only exhibition has been arranged, drawing in the wealthiest patrons, the most powerful investors, and the sharpest minds of the era. For Edison and Tesla, this is more than just another showcase—it’s their final chance to prove, once and for all, who truly deserves to be called the greatest inventor of the modern age. You and your fellow interns have been personally selected to assist one of these brilliant but demanding minds, working behind the scenes to perfect their masterpiece invention before the exhibition opens its doors. The stakes couldn’t be higher: the world is watching, and the competition is fierce. But Something Feels… Off. From the moment you arrive, the fairgrounds hum with an uneasy energy. Whispers of sabotage and industrial espionage swirl through the corridors. Blueprints have gone missing. Equipment has been tampered with. Mysterious figures are seen lurking near the exhibits after hours. Some say that agents working for rival investors are trying to steal secrets—or worse, ensure one of these displays never sees the light of day. Then, disaster strikes. A critical malfunction. A missing component. A last-minute twist that threatens everything. There’s no time to hesitate—you must work quickly, think faster, and outmaneuver your competition if your inventor is going to seize victory. Two Inventors. Two Teams. One Chance to Shape the Future. The pressure is immense. Every wire, bolt, and calculation must be perfect. Every decision could tip the balance of history. Do you have what it takes to assemble the ultimate invention, outwit the opposing team, and secure your place in the annals of genius? Or will history be rewritten—and not in your favor?

Loved this room! Non-lock-and-key, unique puzzles with parallel gameplay. You should definitely play both the Tesla and Edison games separately. Doing Tesla first can be helpful because it's relatively (albeit just slightly) "easier" than Edison; it will get you into the rhythm of these rooms quicker. A group of 4 experienced players is ideal to tackle the parallel and challenging gameplay in pairs. Without giving anything way, we found it very helpful once we figured out which puzzles needed solving and which puzzles were complete. There is a signal and pattern that gets you in the groove. Observation and understanding the puzzles fully are important as their gameplay are relatively contained within their spaces. Our gamemaster was very attentive, following our game closely and providing perfect nudges to help us out. The background music was quite nice and gets you in the mood! Just keep in mind that you won't be interacting with all the pieces as the same space can be used for the Edison game.

Gameplay

Non-linear gameplay with a nice flow that nudges you along. It was fun and the background music was a nice touch. The puzzles were relevant to Tesla.

Atmosphere

Props were excellent, atmosphere and lighting were immersive, design was efficient.

Customer service

I have found the GM's at Escape Hour Austin to be consistently attentive, involved, and helpful. Welcoming staff.

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

A unique blend of puzzles that were also relevant to the theme.

Story

While there isn't much progression to the "story", the puzzles were relevant to the theme which integrated well with the gameplay.

Difficulty

Hard

The non-linear gameplay can make it hard to gather momentum initially. Inexperienced players may find it particularly challenging. There are no lock-and-key puzzles. But once you figure out the rhythm, it gets easier.

We have been waiting to play this game since it was first put into production. The game itself was done well with a good story. One of the puzzles’ props did not function correctly but that is tech. Everything else worked well and we had fun in this room.
