This room was amazing. I've been wanting to try it out forever and we finally did it. The room is linear so you have to go in order. The GM was amazing. You honestly could tell a lot of love and thought went into this room. The special effects, decor and ambiance was amazing. You didn't feel like you were in a random room. It made us feel like we were in this cottage. I literally cannot say enough amazing things about this room. I loved it so much!

Plenty of open lots to park in. We went on a Saturday night at 830pm. Found a spot right away.

My daughter picked this room out based on the brochure she found at Cross Roads. We didn't know much going in and I was delighted by the surprising uses of technology and set design. One of the more "immersive" rooms we've done. Some truly fun reveals and I can't reccomend this one enough. It is a little dark at the start and we had trouble understanding a few of the character voices but these are nit picks. A+++

Very great experience. The puzzles and set were all incredibly immersive. I've never done an escape room that has made me feel like I'm actually affecting the story quite like this one. We were lucky enough to talk with one of the owners after and the amount of love put into the room really shows.

Our game master was the owner of this escape room and his excitement for us to play really made this experience. It’s was a bit challenging for 2 people to play. I’d recommend 3-4. This room was creepy to me but I still enjoyed it. If you’re afraid of spiders, do not be close to the giant spider on the ceiling when the puzzle near it is solved. There is a major decision to make in this room and my friend promised that in my review that I noted that she chose right at the end.

Really great GM. Difficult to do for 2 people but super fun and some new puzzles I haven’t done before which I appreciate. A lot to do for 2. Maybe one other would be helpful.

Epic fantasy room that’s one part high witch fantasy, other part Harry Potter wizardry. Specifically, much like other Hogwarts or Irvine School rooms, Magic Cottage uses wands and spells. Casting spells throughout the entire room is fun, though the process gets admittedly repetitive. Seeing the spell in action never gets old, though, and the attention to lovingly handmade craftsmanship and superb special effects makes every cast truly feel magical! My other big complaint is that it’s a pretty dark room. We wasted quite a bit of time in the beginning because it was dark, and we were even blindfolded going into the room for some reason. The story is interesting, and it features different endings based on your choices. Actually making the choice is a bit difficult because of confusing wording and rules. We had to ask our fun hint-giver what the rules exactly were. But we made the right choice in the literal last minute (for a full longer 75 minute room), and it was worth it to see our ending unfold (with a little surprise at the end!). If you are a fan of the genre, warn up those wands and fly your broomsticks over to Magic Cottage for a worthy magical experience!

The production and theme of the room were executed well, however, it felt like we were being told what to do the entire experience.

Puzzles didn’t flow especially well, and were much more “gather these clearly labeled things and put them together to trigger a special effects sequence,” but the atmosphere and effects were extremely impressive and the whole thing felt very high-budget.
The effects and theming were great, but the puzzles didn’t flow especially naturally and were less puzzle-heavy and more effects-heavy.
Extremely high budget!
