The Shadow of the Relic

Very linear room. Due to the multiple malfunctions, it was difficult to get the game to flow. After completing a puzzle, it was very difficult to figure out what had opened for us to move to the next step. The people in Brighton are great and made the experience fun!

Oh this one was extra disappointing. I was very excited to try this new room in Brighton especially with the cool theme but my excitement quickly ended when the GM had to tell us that something was broken before we even started. They had a work around so I thought, alright it shouldn’t be too bad, but there were multiple other issues. Multiple doors did not open when they were supposed to which caused us to waste time and required the GM to come in at one point to fix it. Besides that the room is very boring besides the decor. The puzzles are very easy and are mostly linear. Don’t go with a large group because you’ll mostly be standing around. This really surprised me since it’s a larger escape room and I would think they’d want to better utilize the space.

Disappointing and anticlimactic. Multiple puzzles didn’t work, and we had to have our GM come in and manually open something at one point. Certain puzzles are finicky, like the last one which was a letdown. Add on the “not intro video” or lore to the room and it just feels like some rooms with some puzzles. And too few puzzles, which were all linear, making our group of 5 stall out with 1-2 people working on each puzzle at a time. Most of us left feeling like we didn’t solve much, and some puzzles we didn’t even know if/how we solved them, we just found a drawer open 5 minutes later. There’s a lot of potential for the room to be great, but it’ll need some TLC, more puzzles, and a better intro with lore.

Honestly a disappointing room from a company whose rooms I normally really love! We were told right from the start a brand new room had several pieces that were broken 🚩 and at one point a GM had to come in and open up something that a puzzle should’ve triggered. 🚩 Even had everything worked the game flow was incredibly linear and with 5 players a couple of us were still standing around while others solved puzzles. For a new room I guess I expected a little more 🤷🏽‍♀️

Most disappointing room I’ve played in awhile, especially at a location that’s normally awesome. The room is brand new and multiple things were already broken/not working or half broken (things open up but they’re not noticeable). Things were more touchy than they should be. Nothing particularly fun or interesting about this room. Definitely kills a vibe when a GM has to come in to open things for you. Boring and few puzzles. Pretty linear so I don’t recommend bringing more than 2-3 people if you do choose to go. We had 5 and I didn’t even get to solve a puzzle. Even if everything worked, the room would still be pretty boring.

Probably my least favorite room at this company out of both of their locations. Everything was broken from start to finish. They even had to come in the room and open stuff that wasn’t opening. Pretty disappointed. Especially after playing the new game at Novi, I was really hyped up. And this room was a dud. Save your $$ and skip this room. If everything was working this room would definitely have gotten a thumbs up. Not a love though. :/

Honestly it was disappointing. This is one of my favorite escape room companies but this room did not live up to standards. The best word was underwhelming . 4 players with >40 games each with one rookie on our trip and felt like we needed to tell the new player that escape rooms are usually a lot more fun. Host was nice. Ambience was good. Puzzles just meh.

A very classic escape room with some fun twists! Great story and atmosphere, good fx too! Not too hard, but very fun
