The best escape room I've been to. Its definitely an "Adventure" room first and foremost so if you're looking to be immersed into a fully built world this is the place to do it.

We've done multiple escape rooms, and this one is amazing! Very different from standard rooms, very interactive and story driven. Don't want to say to much and give it away, but def worth it for new or experienced escapers!

A great experience getting to do a more adventure/story driven room rather than an escape room. They did a really good job with making it an adventure room where we were able to focus on the story at hand and not focus on any time limits. The story would proceed at a steady pace, really allowing us to enjoy the current rooms/puzzles. Still had a challenge to it and got us thinking. Steven our GM was great and giving us subtle prompts of when we were on the wrong track. Like an escape room, all puzzles/clues are used once. Very cool and highly recommended for the escape room feel with less time pressure. We did this as a group of 4 which was a good sized group.

From the moment we stepped inside, it felt like we’d walked straight onto the set of a blockbuster movie. The atmosphere was incredible - dramatic lighting, realistic props, and even smoke effects that made everything feel alive and urgent. Every detail was so immersive, it was easy to forget we were in an escape room and not an actual movie scene. The puzzles were cleverly designed - not overly difficult, but each one played a vital role in moving the story forward. There were no “filler” challenges; everything tied seamlessly into the plot, which kept us completely engaged from start to finish. The life-sized puzzles were especially impressive, adding a physical, hands-on element that made the whole experience feel bigger and more exciting. The game masters clearly put so much thought into creating a rich, believable world, and it paid off. This wasn’t just an escape room - it was a fully immersive adventure where every twist and clue pulled us deeper into the story. We left buzzing with excitement and already talking about who we should recommend this experience too. If you want an escape room that’s as thrilling as it is beautiful, and as cinematic as it is clever, this is the one.

WE’LL SAVE YOU ALICE. Heart of the Mountain was our final experience on this trip to Sydney and what an awesome closer. Firstly the space is gorgeous with some big wow moments and unique, story based puzzles littered throughout. You’re thrown immediately into the world with the national park styled reception area before being led into a briefing campsite that really enhances the opening dialogue. I do like when the story is delivered via a person as opposed to audio but that’s just a personal preference. I wouldn’t go into this expecting a conventional escape room. This is much more of a tactile experience with hands-on solving as opposed to traditional locks and codes which we really enjoyed. The flow feels pretty intuitive and I’m sure will only improve as this room is open longer. The story does get a little murky towards the middle but the main goal remains pretty clear. Definitely an experience I would recommend, a bit different from other escape rooms but in a way that felt refreshing. Shoutout also to legendary Ivy Park Ranger Steven who guided us through and chatted heaps with us after. Oh and they gave us a glowworm gun. Sick.

I read in an earlier review that Heart of the Mountain is like an attraction ripped straight out of a theme park and I have to say they're absolutely right, holy hell. What a truly beautiful experience from start to finish, the scale, set design, tech and atmosphere of this build rival some of the best escape rooms I've ever done. It was awesome. Tasked with tracking down a team of explorers that went missing years ago, the storyline brings a strong sense of mystery and intrigue without ever feeling spooky or dark, perfect for families and younger players. With the objective clear and narrative laid out, I was so impressed by how all these story beats were implemented, by using a series of task-orientated puzzles and consistent character interactions, we were kept on the right path for the entire experience and never felt confused or bored. While I think these guys are trying to shy away from the term "escape room" to attract a broader demographic, there's still plenty here to satisfy the average enthusiast's lust for puzzles and content; it's a different style, sure, but it's still just as engaging as the traditional format if you keep an open mind. Overall an incredible addition to Sydney's outstanding selection of rooms, can't wait to see what they do next! Special shout out to GM and designer Steven who was lovely to chat to!

My colleagues and I had an amazing time together working through the heart of the mountain! The whole experience was so impressive - the immersive environment, the narrative, and the technical details made it feel like we were in a movie! Wish I could wipe my memory so I could do it over and over again.
