Election Day

This is what escape rooms are all about - a game that made me fall in love with the medium all over again. An incredibly detailed neighborhood made up of distinctly beautiful spaces, intuitive onboarding, clever and logical problem solving, and one-of-a-kind character interactions, which were ALL in service of hilarious, dramatic, and unforgettable storytelling. I don’t even know where to begin — Election Day is one of the most creative, hilarious, and immersive escape room experiences I’ve ever done. Imagine a mix of political intrigue, murder mystery, and a full-on investigation, but told through brilliantly designed puppets that feel like they’ve stepped right out of Sesame Street (with a clever, and grown-up twist). The attention to detail is outstanding. Every puzzle ties perfectly into the story, and the humor is spot on without ever taking away from the intrigue. I was constantly laughing, gasping, and piecing things together — completely immersed from start to finish. The set design is loaded with personality, the writing is sharp, and the overall flow kept our group engaged the entire time. It’s rare to find a room that blends comedy, narrative depth, and challenging puzzles so seamlessly. Appleseed Avenue has created something truly special here — part theater, part escape room, part satire, and all-around unforgettable fun. If you’re looking for an escape room experience that pushes the boundaries of what the format can actually be, Election Day is an absolute must.

This is the room everyone is talking about and for good reason! It’s fun, unique and charming with great characters, great set design, and A+ customer service—a golden recipe for a standout room. Out of 400+ rooms I’ve never done one quite like this before. There are two different sides to the room, detective and medical examiner. I’m glad I switched to the latter; the medical examiner route is VERY challenging and uses a lot of deduction. Everything comes together nicely in an impressive finale. I can’t wait for their second room!

Appleseed Avenue's Election Day was a great experience! From onboarding, rules, story building, we all had a fantastic time. Great attention to detail and excellent character building, something I sometimes feel other venues struggle with. Appleseed really drew us into their world and made us truly care about the characters in a way no other room has made me feel in recent memory. Attention to detail is unmatched, props felt authentic and fully realized, and the story was told in a creative, unique way. Fully custom software, voice acting, great use of sound and lighting and a strong story with relatable characters make this a top room in SoCal. I did feel some of the space felt underutilized, and a large portion of the game we were separated from our group. In addition, in our role, we spent a large majority of the time clicking on the computer as opposed to exploring and puzzling in the real room. Given the space constraints of the room available, they did a good job of making the place feel larger than it actually is, though a large portion of our gameplay was done on screen. I would have liked to see more in room puzzles as opposed to on screen ones.

Very interesting and novel design, nothing like any of the rooms I have done before. If you are area, definitively worth a try.

Appleseed Avenue Escape Room absolutely blew us away! The game design and storytelling are out of this world, it’s truly one of a kind! The way the character operates in particular felt so refreshing and different from the usual escape room format, making it stand out in the best possible way. The room is incredibly immersive, smartly designed with well-crafted props and high production value that pull you straight into the story. Not surprising, since this gem was created by the founder of Evil Genius and Matt - the brilliant mind behind Arcane Escape Room—talk about a dream team! We’ve played around 35 escape rooms, and this one easily ranks as our #1 favorite. Even though it’s a bit of a drive from Los Angeles, it’s absolutely worth every mile. And the best part? They’re opening a new room next year—we seriously can’t wait to come back!

This is an escape room unlike any I’ve done. Our team loved it, and multiple times while playing we would say out loud “this is SO fun.” It’s truly impressive what they’ve done here. The mix of investigation and escape room puzzles is so satisfying. The world feels fully fleshed out, the story is so funny, and the actual puzzles and investigation is FUN! I cannot recommend this room enough. We chatted with one of the owners afterwards about the room because we were so impressed. Great use of game design, set decoration was fully lived in, and super funny. Some mechanics i’ve never seen before in an escape room.

Unforgettable, unique, hilarious, engrossing, I can’t say enough about Election Night! I’m at about 40+ rooms and this is instantly tied with my other favorite room of all time (The Last Supper in Pomona). My first thought when I left was that I could have played the main gameplay mechanic of this room for 4 hours and never gotten bored. Yes, you will be split into two groups and have pretty separate experience from the other group(I was in the Medical Exam group), with a few moments shared between the two rooms. There are certainly puzzles to do throughout, just like normal escape rooms, but the main draw is the investigation game that is unlike any room I have done before, as well as a tremendously fun story that builds to a great climax/satisfying conclusion. I don’t think I have laughed out loud half as much in another room, the jokes were earnestly laugh out loud, the set was stunning, the tech was really impressive and never once did it feel like a piece of tech could fail. There is too much to rave about to put into one review, do yourself a favor and do this room before it inevitably lands itself on Terpeca next year.

This is an incredibly unique room. If you’re a fan of ERs or a first timer, you will THOROUGHLY enjoy this game. It has a novel twist to ERs that I think will be very popular in rooms to come. Really high quality set design. Super fun and whimsical. It was a perfect blend. Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing. Such a fun and unique room. Definitely looking forward to returning for a new game.
