252 escape rooms
I am so glad our group decided to do the Wine Vault because this ended up being my favorite out of the three rooms we completed in this location. The room design itself is not as impressive as some of the other places I’ve been to but I loved the puzzles and the backstory. While mostly Gen 1 puzzles (lock and key), the wine bottle puzzles were the stand out for me. In terms of service, I am not a fan of their lengthy explanations. We did share that we have done 200+ escape rooms and we sat through the first explanation by the staff member which felt lengthy. Then, we would watch the same rules again in the room. Luckily, the staff explanation for the other two rooms were the condensed version but I think we could have done with just one format of the explanation. As for the unlimited drinks service, when folks in the group ask for drinks in the middle of the experience, it takes me out of the immersion. This is just a personal preference but I think I would have preferred for there to be a place where folks can place their drinks if they want a refill with a note of what they would like that drink to be. That way, we don’t need to call out the game master for this. Finally, they don’t let you take group photos in the room. You have to go outside to the lobby and take photos with their unique props. The background of escape rooms have a special place in my heart so when they shared that they don’t let us take photos of the rooms, I was slightly disappointed. The props themselves were not too impressive either. If the props were more impressive, I may have been slightly less disappointed. Overall, Wine Vault is the best room out of the three - it felt spacious inside and it could be done by splitting up in search for clues.

Thank you for your feedback denicee! Wine Vault took 3 years to build - storyline, plot, flow and delivery. Russell and I love every part of this design, so thank you for your shared enjoyment of the room. We typically ask players if they would like an explanation, so I apologize if you did not get asked. I will make sure to share your comments with my staff as a training tool. The room videos were originally made to be the only explanation and we learned over time, the hard way, that 95% of players need multiple explanations to comprehend the instructions. Broken items are very costly to escape room owners., especially small businesses who actually care about broken elements :) I like your suggestion of a note for a refill however, I am afraid if we give players a pen, my walls and every prop will be ruined. Also - learned the hard way. I will bring this up at the next staff meeting to discuss a different & improved way for refills without room interruptions. The photos in the room - we don't allow it because we do not have time to "reset" before photos are taken. For example, if a puzzle is solved, you can see the solution in the picture (ie wine bottles) It could possibly ruin the experience for the next player that happens to stumble upon the pic online. Another - learned the hard way lesson :) When you visit us next time - please tell us that you want no explanation or storyline told. We can skip it for you. We will also make sure to only refill before we start the room and after the experience is over. We will also reset the room after your experience for you to go back in to take photos. Our customers are very important to us and your feedback is very valuable. Thank you for supporting small and local! - Amber, owner
