Ghost In The Graveyard

Rating: 4/5 - A spooky good time with fun puzzles Pros: ➕Set fit the theme well with lots of textures and details ➕Multiple areas to explore, good use of space despite the small overall size ➕Lots of tech triggers with minimal use of combo locks ➕Puzzles were fun and satisfying, lots of physical/tactile interactions ➕Good use of audio/voice over ➕Some cool reveals ➕GM was friendly Room for improvement: ➖Much of the room is dark, only 2 lanterns are provided so you may need to use your own flashlight if you have more than 2 players. ➖Wish the room was longer, we finished with 22 min left as a team of 3 enthusiasts. I'd recommend 2-3 players since it's a smaller room. There are no jump scares or blood/gore, just a slightly spooky atmosphere.

I had a great time in this room. The set was good and the puzzles flowed well. Multiple aha moments where we never really struggled on any puzzles and even if we did, it was briefly, and we got the answer relatively fast. There was a really cool aspect of the set you interact with which I was really impressed by. There was also one puzzle concept I had never seen before in another room. We didn’t need any hints or nudges and finished in 38ish minutes. Taking the price of the room into account (it’s pretty expensive compared to other rooms in the area), I do wish there was more content. However, I understand that the majority of people aren’t enthusiasts and probably have to use a larger chunk of their time.

Fun, lower tech puzzle rooms. Not too spooky, some fun cinematics. We struggled on one underclued puzzle. Some minor flow issues.

Of the games at Escape Factor, this had the most exploratory set - their other games are one room, or one room plus a little bit, while Ghost in the Graveyard did a more standard thing where you get to progressively access new areas. There were some neat, unexpected effects, though some puzzles also struck me as wanting some tweaking. Like most haunt-ish rooms, Ghost in the Graveyard is pretty dim, which might not be great for people with less than ideal vision.

One of their newer rooms. A good mixture of tech and mechanical. One puzzle that was so cool and I’m still amazed how they did it. I would only recommend this room to people who have played a few escape rooms before or it might be too hard.

The game master was great, very positive atmosphere and interesting puzzles. Appreciate the techy interactions of the puzzles and activations.

While thematically appropriate it was a bit too dark, with not quite enough lanterns/flashlights. There were some really unique puzzles and props that were fun. In the end, it was a bit on the short side for us.

This room was interesting, there’s a lot more puzzles in this room than the other rooms at this location. My team of 2 always had something to work on, we felt like we got stuck a few more times than the other rooms we did. There was a nice wow moment - something I didn’t expect (but not in a scary way) but some of the puzzles I didn’t like. Overall a good room though!
