Prison Break by Knockout Escape Rooms was the 2nd game of Day 3 and the 6th room of our Athens Escape Tour 2026, played with the same team of five. Personally, this experience left me with mixed feelings. As a fan of the Prison Break series, it certainly pressed all the right buttons when it came to references and atmosphere. The environment and acting were superb, and the performers did a fantastic job bringing the tension of a prison setting to life. Where the experience didn’t fully click for our group was with the puzzles. At times we struggled to understand the hints and determine what exactly we were supposed to focus on. This may have been a mix of language limitations, the intense environment, and some design choices that were not always immediately clear. Another aspect that stood out that day was the very loud sound design. This was also the case in the other games we played that day (You’re Next and Left Alone). The volume created a lot of tension, which clearly fits the theme, but at times it meant we had to shout to communicate with each other, which made collaboration a bit harder than usual. Despite those frustrations, the experience was still fun overall, especially thanks to the excellent acting and strong thematic connection to the series. A big shout-out to the actors, who really carried the atmosphere. Recommended for players who enjoy intense, high energy escape experiences.
