Investigation Lost

The game was very fun! Storyline was aligned with the Queen Mary and the ghost tours. Puzzles were mostly chronological, so many could not be completed simultaneously. The staff was absolutely wonderful! We wanted a private experience and got lucky to have one by booking very last minute. The game master helped us to book the room 10 minutes before the start of game time and got all of the electronics and parts of the room ready for us quickly even though she had just put them away to charge.

I was excited to have our friend do her first escape room. Unfortunately, I am not sure she would do another one because of this experience. Tech was barely functional and many times two or more people were standing around waiting for one non-functioning element to complete. Clues were worthless and GM’s seemed apathetic to it all. No debrief, just do you want a picture and thanks for coming. Private room would be the way to go here but it is priced way too high.

Oh my goodness, this place is a mess. Most of the reviews are 100% correct about this place. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! First off, they don't have a phone number you can call. They only have an email that is run by the people at dark harbor, so they are super slow about responding. Then all of their games are public, but you can book a private booking for an outrageous price. We booked this room for a birthday and when we booked we talked through email, we got to the point where our booking was made and on the website it was showing that nobody could join us because of the three person minimum for a booking. Then, we confirmed that if one of our friends joins he can add on when he gets there. When we arrived, the first thing we heard was that two randoms were joining us, and then since two randoms joined us our friend couldn't add on. They ended up leaving us all in the lobby for 30 minutes so they could talk to their manager cause I guess the person we were emailing and talking to never even told the game masters about anything that we discussed. Then we get in the game and we can tell the game masters just don't even care anymore, talking to us with a tone and attitude. As the game continues we learn that things aren't working properly, the puzzles are pretty lame and didn't really flow well. We were supposed to get an item from a puzzle and it wasn't even there, and when we told them they were like it's there(with attitude). The game was also just super dirty, like they never dusted it or cleaned it since it opened. Then the game ends and we talk about validation, they tell us to go to security to get it validated. The security guard doesn't even get out of his chair to talk to us, just yells at us with his feet up about how he won't validate our parking because they don't for the escape room, that he doesn't care who said we could, and doesn't know why they said they do. Then just stared at us pretty much like "you all can leave now."

This was a really unique experience! What a great location with so much history and a fantastic theme to base an escape room on. The production value is excellent and there were some unique puzzles. This Gen 2 room is a wonderful option for an afternoon out. Escape room, tour the Queen Mary, dine in one of there restaurants and a view of the city. Loved it!

I wouldn’t call this terrible, it seems like they fixed some thing since a lot of these really reviews but I wouldn’t call this ground breaking or perfect by any means. Saw some tech that was new and interesting but sometimes didn’t quite work. The light puzzle really killed us and we took way too long to figure out we were on the right track but it just didn’t catch as it should have. Might go back just to finish. Otherwise the vibes were good, GMs were nice, and you get to explore the ship afterwards.

This was awesome!!! You’re in such a cool part of the ship and the game was great. I think they ended up working out the kinks since opening because these reviews do not do the experience justice. They pulled it together because the staff was helpful, and the game didn’t have one glitch!!

Horrible! We schedule this for a weekend - 2 weeks in advance. 1 week before we sent an email for rescheduling. On the Friday before, we sent another email, and still no answer. There is not phone to call to talk to someone, the chatbot is not working, and they don't answer emails. We were coming from San Diego to this room, glad we ended up not going, because we might have gone there and not even being scheduled. Very frustrating and disappointed; if you are in the mood to loose some money, book it. Otherwise, there are way better rooms than this one, and way better customer service.

A tech heavy room with faulty tech. An elaborate instruction manual that needed to be followed with unclear instructions. Bad sign posting led to many moments of frustration. GMs seem to be instructed to not be helpful. Nice staff tho. But ultimately it was not a fun experience.

We were so excited for this game and drove 1.5 hours to play. The game itself is in part of the old engine room of the Queen Mary, so it had some authentic atmosphere. Unfortunately, some of the puzzles were so tedious they were complicated, and when we asked for a hint, we were read the same paper that we already had. Therefore, it wasn’t helpful. We got stuck in one of the rooms because the puzzle we were trying to finish was almost impossible and was a stretch to figure out even with clues. When our time was up and the game master came in, she couldn’t even get the puzzle to work. They only have a 30% success rate of escaping therefore that should tell them that they either need to extend the time or they need to make some more appropriate clues to help you figure out what to do. This room has such potential, but there are some major issues and puzzles that are just not intuitive that they need to fix in order for the game to be fun. So unless they fix some of the games, I don’t think I would fully recommend this escape room. I only gave it a thumbs up because it has such great potential.
