Scooby, Shaggy, and the gang need your mystery-solving help…or else! The town of Crystal Cove and surrounding areas are being terrorized by monsters and ghosts, and now the local Baroness Maria Richman has gone missing and it is suspected that the ghost sightings have something to do with it! Tasked with solving the crime, you arrive at the same conclusion as Mystery Incorporated. But when you get to the Spooky Castle, Mystery Inc. gets locked out, at the same time you get locked in! You soon realize that they’re able to help by communicating clues via magic portraits inside the Castle. After discovering a secret dungeon and monster lab in the castle, you come to the conclusion that the person responsible almost certainly works in the castle - but who could it be as there are several suspects??

This was a cute, campy, simple game with good use of theme and some nice technology. Overall it’s an easy game best for beginners or kids. I went with my husband and two teenage boys. We had a good time with some funny moments. It was definitely not a stressful game. Very relaxing fun! The game masters are friendly and kind. However, a little dull. At the end of the game we were told that me “maybe” beat the record for fastest time and then asked us if we wanted our picture taken. That was it. No excitement, no celebration, no congratulations. Very anticlimactic.

The game itself was okay. We took 2 kids there, and they were able to do most of the room on their own, which was nice. The ending of the game isn’t that bombastic, you enter a code on the door, which triggers the ending video. But still, with the kids, we wanted them to enjoy the “Congratulations” video at the end that explained the end of the story. Annoyingly, the game master burst in just as the ending video started playing. We had to ask her to hold and let us finish watching it. She stood there the whole time with an annoyed look on her face. I also suspect they bypassed us on a puzzle which confused us and was also annoying because we finished with more than 10 minutes left. Ultimately, the game itself was cute and great for kids. But the customer service left a very bad taste in our mouths.

It was a fun room, game masters don’t say much though. It’s like are you ready? Here’s your room don’t hit escape buttons, timers here have fun. I like the rooms that build up a story, game master has a character to draw you in. Just adds to a lot more fun.

Staff was good but Escapology doesn’t seem to immerse you in a story before like other escape rooms do.
