Will you escape Edward's basement? You and your friends have been kidnapped by Edward Tandy -- a cannibalistic serial killer with a fine taste for unique electronics, taxidermy, and of course human flesh. He has created a sick and twisted game of sorts in his deceased mother's home. He hopes to weed out the unintelligent and find those who are "worthy of escaping" by his late mother's standards. In THE BASEMENT, you and your team will have to employ keen communication skills, a finely tuned organizational prowess, and a general ability to keep your $h!t together under pressure if you want to survive. This is what we like to call a "funnel puzzle" where you will find numerous items and clues throughout the room. These items all come together to orchestrate your escape.

This room was definitely overhyped for me. The puzzles are fairly simple, but the game flow isn’t great. I wouldn’t recommend doing it with more than 4 people. The live actor is basically just there to give clues. And the justification for her knowing things is a little thin. The puzzles don’t make a whole lot of sense in the story and there is more searching for things than solving

The beginning of it all and it sets the tone for the rest of the rooms. The vibes are scary enough but not terrifying and the set resign is gross and grimy and fun! A good set of puzzles to figure out but they flow together well and keep you moving at a great pace

We did both the basement and the study back to back with group of 5. We had a blast and have to give credit to our gamemaster and the live actors here because they are the best we have seen. We have done 40+ rooms so far and haven’t seen puzzles and gameplay quite like this. Would like to come back for courtyard!

Really disappointed in this place. The appearance was okay but it was obvious that nothing has been updated in ages and shows a lack of attention and it smelled bad. Don't understand such high ratings.

Maybe the worst escape room experience I've had so far. The setup was great, the settings were even better. We came in knowing there's a live actor in the room and I was excited to see where the live actor was going to contribute.. The absolute worst live actor experience ever. I get they're supposed to give out hints, but honestly screaming and whining "HURRY UP, WE ONLY HAVE 10MINUTES LEFT" 200X in a row is super obnoxious and unhelpful. The puzzles are old-school and unintuitive: 4-digit codes and lock+keys everywhere. It was unfortunately a big let down for all the reviews this room has gotten.
