Puppet Heist: The Hand Of Life

Wow! What a fun and memorable experience. The puppet aspect really added to the unique aspect of this hilarious and punny adventure.

Rating: 4.5/5 - Love the commitment to the puppet theme and the task based puzzles Pros: ➕Puppet theme was adorable and unique, it was so well integrated into the gameplay. ➕Everything was tasked based and felt like something we'd actually do in a heist, there is very little "escape room logic." Traditional puzzle lovers may not like this though. ➕Fully tech based, I don't recall any padlocks or keys. I read some people encountered tech issues but everything was working for us. ➕Lots of tactile and physical things to interact with. ➕Fun use of gadgets/devices. ➕Immersive set with more than 1 room, certain effects made it feel bigger than it was with custom videos and effects. ➕Set was quality and looked good, though the warehouse theme was uninteresting. ➕Funny narrative with many comedic moments ➕Some teamwork/communication required ➕GM was friendly and helpful Minor room for improvement: ➖A couple of the tasks were not well clued and not the most intuitive. ➖Breaks a couple escape room norms, I like that they're thinking outside the box but it makes it harder for enthusiasts. ➖I'm not a fan of the phone based hint system where you have to text the GM (they provide the phone). We played as a team of 2 and got out with time to spare, I'd recommend 2-4.

super funny and silly room! what a great time with friends or family. definitely more story oriented and task based rather than locks and puzzles but still a very interesting interactive experience. had an awesome time!!

It was really unique and fun. I thought it was really cool how they did the puppet team and the ways they made them move and stuff. I would totally play again, 9/10 room, definitely recommend.

The room was silly and fun.

I've heard The Bureau is a bit divisive amongst escape room enthusiasts and I can see why. For this particular company, it's less about opening things up and "escaping", and more about actually progressing the story inside the room. In many rooms, the flavor and storyline can be ignored; here, it cannot. That said I really appreciated this unique take. I didn't love every single puzzle in this room, but in general it was a strong showing. The actual room itself was so creative...and after 90 escape rooms, that's no longer something I can say often. If you're going to try out any room at The Bureau, I'd make it this one.
