You are a group of Denver privateers posing as crew on a ship plundering the high seas. A mysterious treasure from an island in the Caribbean is brought aboard. You and your Denver mates plot a mutiny to have the treasure all to yourselves, but are caught and locked in the brig. A storm begins to brew on the horizon, and the captain decides to abandon ship, fearing for the worse. You must escape from the brig and chart a new course before the ship steers itself into the oncoming hurricane. You will discover whether there is truth to the curse or if it is just an old legend.

Small room - we had 4 people and there wasn't much room to move about. Only 1 room, which was disappointing. GM gave us clues for things we had already done. When booking, a required "gratuity" of $21.60 was added on. I requested for it to be taken off and the manager just referred me to their website that said, "HD Escape Rooms is a small local Colorado company. We believe in treating our staff as well as physically possible. The Gratuity charge is to help us with yearly increasing Colorado wages. While being able to give our staff uniforms, name tags, company trainings & outings. We appreciate our guests and employees more than you know!" This room was hot, like seriously hot. The neighborhood is pretty sketchy and I would not choose this location again.

Gameplay

The theme is fun. The clues jumped around a bit.

One of the first times we played with strangers. I didn’t like it, at all. It was really awkward when we had different ideas on how to solve something and you had to stand there and wait until they were done before you could try something else. I really do not recommend playing HD games… I’m a completionist, so it’s hard for me to pass on these rooms… good thing we’ve done them all by now. If you don’t care about not doing all of the rooms available, take a hard pass.

The location is cool, but this wasn’t my favorite escape room in Denver. For one, you get clues via watching videos on your phone. Also, some of the elements of the room didn’t always work - nothing was broken broken, but it just felt a little worn.
