76 escape rooms
Mark this one as fine and enjoyable, but not worth going out of your way to play. The theme is fun, but the execution feels very amateurish. It feels like this room was made during the height of escape room marketing hype in the early to mid 2010s, and is beginning to show its age as a result. The set dressing is cute, albeit very cheap, strangely scarce, and in need of some servicing/maintenance which some may find affects immersion. There is a surprising lack of magic implored or utilized for puzzles (or at all), which is a HUGE missed opportunity given the theme. For beginners and casual players, this is a great room to familiarize themselves with basic escape room mechanics. There are some clever puzzles, and fun moments. Most puzzles are too reliant on common “get numbers to locks” schtick. It’s definitely something that will bug seasoned escape room players and feels (unintentionally) antiquated and very out of place/not on theme for the room. Don’t get me wrong, it’s enjoyable, but it needs some reworking and a good overhaul to be fully realized. But, good god please PLEASE change the music. It is too repetitive, like I’m talking 10 solid seconds of music that loops endlessly for an hour! Other than that, it’s a silly fun time 🧙♂️
Gameplay
Atmosphere
Left a lot to be desired. Serviceable but not really convincing, has quite a lot of wear and tear and is definitely showing it’s age.
Customer service
Story
Light hearted and silly. Perfectly fine, but not very good. Could have more focus and a clearer sense how all the puzzles actually work toward the goal.
