A room with a great setting, story and decorum, but sadly sparse and simple puzzles. Overall though, a room worth experiencing.

There are around 8, maybe 9 puzzles in the room total and none of them very hard or interesting. A lot of the room's time is spent watching cutscenes/listening to the ship's AI than actually solving or thinking. Even more, there was a feeling that the ship's AI(the GM) was rushing us through the puzzles. The focus is more on going through the motions of a live-action story. For example, one puzzle involves a player putting on a space suit (some overalls) to go into an airlock (they just need to be guided by the other player in the dark to put their hand on a button). Putting on the suit is more difficult and time consuming than the puzzle itself but it's done in the name of immersion.

The story and sets are what elevate this game in spite of its puzzles. You start by taking a seat in the passenger cabin and enjoying the space ride through some VR goggles. A sudden and startling jolt stops the ship. In the captain's cabin you are greeted by the ship's phlegamtic AI assistant who delivers everything from devastating news to raunchy jokes in the same neutral tone. Together, you perform damage control and find out that an alien organism has attached itself to the ship. You open a path to the alien's ship through the airlock and try to take it down from inside.

The Alien ship is the latter half of the escape room and it is the best set I have seen in a sci-fi escape room yet. It is pitch dark so you have to use your flashlight which also doubles as your AI's portable home (an ingenious and immersive way to ensure player assistance on the new set), and the whole ship looks sinister especially as it all seems to flow from one immobile alien. The puzzles here are a bit more cryptic as befits an alien environment.

Finally, after being spared this conundrum on their last space mission, the piglets were finally faced with their Sophie's choice moment: one player had to sacrifice themselves on the alien ship so the other may live. The Brave Piglet, true to his name and character, stayed behind. It was a powerful moment, an ending reminiscent of that of the video game Soma: alone in pitch blackness in a now dead alien ship with only a reassuring AI attached to a dimming flashlight to keep me company in these last moments. It was a similarly emotional moment for the Sunshine Piglet who escaped alone.

Fortunately, it seems the Brave Piglet is like a Looney Tunes character: every episode something bad happens to him but he sureally reappears intact in the next one, and so it came that the piglets were reunited after the mission. ❤️🐷

So we were a little nervous going into this one at first with lower expectations but were so pleasantly surprised! Our game master, Andres, had to have been rolling on the floor laughing with our crazy group but he didn’t make us feel embarrassed at all. He gently helped us each time, made us laugh, and really made the experience better. I can’t wait to try the other rooms at Maximum Escape

Very good set design. Some fun a unique things. A little sparse though as far as good puzzles go. Kinda breezes through it and wish there was a little more to do. Nothing wrong with it though.

WOW this game was so crazy! There were a lot of things I experienced in this game that I never experienced in US games, which is probably related to the stricter liability issues in the US. However, the intro to this game felt a little like a Disney ride, and the middle part of this game was highly immersive, and the final part was unexpected got our hearts pounding in excitement. Fun times!
