That was close! However, the operator is satisfied with what you’ve done and your next mission is waiting for you: You were introduced in a crime scene unit and have to find evidence about a murder case. Who is the victim? Where is the murder weapon? And – most importantly – who is the murderer? Possibly there’s more behind it than it seems at first. To make matters worse, there’s a storm coming up that is about to destroy the scene of crime. You’ve got only one hour to solve the case and seek shelter. The clock is ticking!

This game had some nice moments, few cool effects and solving the puzzles felt satisfying. Unfortunately, the game was too short / too easy. We finished like in a half of the time and it felt like it can't be the end. If we weren't playing all three games at this location at once I would be probably really disappointed. All three played together felt more like playing one proper game.

I think this was my favourite of the three at this location! (Haven’t done Going Underground yet.) There were a few moments where we were just standing there feeling like idiots with nothing to do, but that made it satisfying when we spotted what we missed. The finale brought everything to a satisfying crescendo.

Gameplay

There was a lot of “search the location” work but it was well done— several of the finds felt clever rather than arbitrary,

The GM had a perfect balance with gentle hints without giving too much away.

What to say. After playing Going Underground and having a fantastic time, we went to play all three games at Crime Runners other location. A focus on story telling is good and all, but I have never lost a 60 minutes escape room in 35 minutes before. I’m also pretty sure I paid for 60 minutes, so that is another annoyance. For some absurd, weird, bad reason, the owners of this place has the worst rule I have ever seen in a room: When you reach the last puzzle, the timer suddenly goes down to 5 minutes. That means that if that one puzzle is the one you get stuck on, then good luck. We lost the first room, and beat the other two, because the last puzzle was made easier, SINCE people where losing the first one so much. It makes sense to have this idea, but to not see it being the worst idea ever after years of running your business is mind boggling to me. The GM even said around 50% of all players lost the rooms, and many because of this rule. We were not pleased after the first game, and had to vent to the GM a bit to be able to enjoy the other two rooms. All in all, these three rooms are fine, and I would have reccomended them, if it hadn’t been for the horrible way they end their games. If you can look past that, then you’ll find three classic escape rooms, with the third one being the one I’d reccomend.

  • The set is beautiful, a real step up from the first game with a great caricature of a back alley ...
