I really enjoyed this room! This was my 29th escape room (24W - 5L) that I tackled with four other adults with similar statistics. The room is wonderfully decorated with everything in theme, including the timer. All of the puzzles and props were in great condition with no glitches. This would be a fun room for a family with 'tween-kids to play as it is not scary, the kids can walk around with lanterns while looking for clues, there is code breaking, and novel puzzles. I liked that the puzzles were mostly non-linear, so there was plenty for players to do alone or as a group.
This was a fun room. There were a couple of puzzle concepts that I had not encountered yet. I still consider myself to be a newbie, but even if you are a highly experienced player, I think this would be a fun room - just take fewer people.
The props and puzzles were all in theme and high quality.
Our GM was very polite and helpful. We played three rooms today and she knew when we needed a nudge and when to give us a few more minutes to muddle through a task.
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
I'm still pretty new to escape rooms, so this is only my second gold rush theme. There was at least one clue that I said, "huh, that's pretty cool".
The room is very in theme with high quality decorations.
I think the room was a mixture of high tech and mechanical, but probably a little more mechanical (which I prefer).
I think the room could be solved by two players with experience, but four is a nice number because there are quite a few puzzles to solve in a non-linear setting.
The lighting is low, but the room is not scary.
All of the puzzles were high quality and working.
Physically active
Somewhat
There is a lot of walking around, stooping, etc., but nothing exhausting.
Accessibility
I think the room would be difficult for players with disabilities.
