Blast From The Past

Love a cute nostalgic arcade theme! I appreciated the vintage arcade game machines used to build out this escape room, and there‘s some pretty cool tech built into the latter half.

Blast From The Past was a lot of fun! 60 to Escape Gurnee is not quite on the level with the Woodfield location, but this game and room was still very good. I love the use of real arcade games and even a pinball machine as it makes you feel like you are in an arcade from the 90’s. All of the different rooms you get to explore are exciting to see. There is a lot to do in this non-linear room so it was good that we had 4 people (although it was tight at times with space). I really enjoyed several puzzles, but many you had to remember clues or patterns from earlier rooms and use them later, so it required good organization on the notepad. Customer service at 60 to Escape Gurnee was fantastic as Charlie was enthusiastic before/after and gave some nice nudges along the way. This was not my favorite room, but still had a blast and would recommend.

Step into an old arcade! Real arcade machines and hidden passages! Solid progression, good mix of puzzles. On the smaller side, we played with 3, any more than that may have felt a little crowded at times.

Good for retro game fans, though it's something everyone can enjoy. Decent set and puzzles, and overall a fun time. I was expecting a little more from some of the puzzles and set based on what was going on with the plot, and think there were some missed opportunities. I thought this fell around the middle of the pack of games at this location - I like some more, some less.

Such a good escape room. The arcade theme was perfect. The puzzles were great and we loved our GM. This room would be hard if you’ve never done any escape rooms before.

Rating: 3.5/5 Fun room, seems like it's hard to go wrong with 60 to Escape, they're better than most rooms out there. Good set with lots of details, fun video game nostalgia, nice variety of puzzles, different areas to explore, lots of tech, had lighting and sound effects, only a single padlock/lockbox. We struggled a bit as a team of 2 as this is kind of non-linear and we were fatigued after a long day, but the GM was awesome and provided the right amount of nudges at the right time so that we got out with 2 min remaining. I'd recommend a team of 4. These minor nitpicks are why I didn't rate this a ❤️: -There were some neat aspects but no particular "wow" or "that's so cool" moments for me -I wasn't a fan of some of the puzzles -Some of it didn't flow too well for us -Not of the fan of the searching aspects -I prefer rooms that are more linear since I usually play as a smaller team UPDATE: My ranking of 60 to Escape rooms (all locations) so far starting with my favorite. 1. Loved this room! The nostalgia was great as well as the theming, puzzles, and flow- overall a really excellent game!

We really liked this game. It was non linear and had parts multiple people could work on at once. The theme was awesome and if you went to the arcade as a kid this room will hit you with a little nostalgia. Overall a fun great game for both beginners and people who like a good story and set design.

This was an awesome room, a very unique aesthetic involving arcades that I've never seen before despite how many I've done. Very impressive to see the arcade games repurposed for puzzles, and I loved how unique those all felt. There are a few scavenger hunt portions that we got stuck at, but beyond that, the setting and atmosphere and puzzles were all excellent.
