Blast From The Past

Fun arcade-themed room with a twist! The puzzles were super fun, and the room was larger than expected. Fun storyline, though the ending felt abrupt. We expected at least one more puzzle, but that didn’t negatively affect the room whatsoever, just unexpected. One collection aspect wasn’t fully functioning the way it was supposed to, but it was easily fixed remotely.

The clock wasn’t working so after 5 minutes the GM came into the room, made us leave, and then start up again from where we left off. A huge disruption to the immersion which is disappointing for as much as it cost. Also, this is one of their easier rooms, made even easier for our experienced group because we solved things nonlinearly just because we could figure out how to solve them without waiting to get to instructions. As a result, we got through incredibly quickly— broke the record for the year. It’s got great theming as all 60 to escape rooms do. This one is just a bit too easy. And lacks a big payoff at the end. We were sort of left with the “that’s it??” feeling. But it was a good enough room. We enjoyed it.

This is a can’t miss room for anyone that grew up in the 80s. The aesthetics and ambience is spot on for the theme. Getting to interact with the arcades that I grew up loving was so great. It’s also a really robust experience with lots to explore but nothing too difficult and a really intuitive flow. Had no idea such great rooms were so close to me. Definitely planning to go back and work my way through all their rooms.

Love a cute nostalgic arcade theme! I appreciated the vintage arcade game machines used to build out this escape room, and there‘s some pretty cool tech built into the latter half.

Blast From The Past was a lot of fun! 60 to Escape Gurnee is not quite on the level with the Woodfield location, but this game and room was still very good. I love the use of real arcade games and even a pinball machine as it makes you feel like you are in an arcade from the 90’s. All of the different rooms you get to explore are exciting to see. There is a lot to do in this non-linear room so it was good that we had 4 people (although it was tight at times with space). I really enjoyed several puzzles, but many you had to remember clues or patterns from earlier rooms and use them later, so it required good organization on the notepad. Customer service at 60 to Escape Gurnee was fantastic as Charlie was enthusiastic before/after and gave some nice nudges along the way. This was not my favorite room, but still had a blast and would recommend.

Step into an old arcade! Real arcade machines and hidden passages! Solid progression, good mix of puzzles. On the smaller side, we played with 3, any more than that may have felt a little crowded at times.

Good for retro game fans, though it's something everyone can enjoy. Decent set and puzzles, and overall a fun time. I was expecting a little more from some of the puzzles and set based on what was going on with the plot, and think there were some missed opportunities. I thought this fell around the middle of the pack of games at this location - I like some more, some less.

Theme is right up our alley! We spent a lot of time in the local arcade as young adults so we appreciated the use of actual machines, and how they integrated those machines into the escape room gameplay. The second half of the room is even more fun. Lots to look at, lots to do. Definitely not the most polished of 60 to Escapes rooms, but still very enjoyable.

Such a good escape room. The arcade theme was perfect. The puzzles were great and we loved our GM. This room would be hard if you’ve never done any escape rooms before.
