Your friend Connor, an aspiring novelist has been working on a book about serial killers. He thinks he has scored his big break when he finds a lead on the Zodiac Killer. Obtaining information on a serial killer that was never caught was an oppotunity too great to pass up. So he headed off to the small midwestern town to speak with this informant, Zed Holman, the owner of a junkyard. This was six months ago and you have not heard from Connor since. The police are not able to file a missing person's report, so you decide to go see for yourself. When you finally arrive in town, night is falling and a storm is on the horizon. You approach the junkard looking for answers as to the fate of your friend...

An absolute must-do, one of the best puzzle-focused rooms I've ever played, and a new top game for me. It's rare that a game has not only puzzles I've never seen before, but also has not even ONE mediocre puzzle. Bravo. Play it!

We really enjoyed this room. The audio and visual effects created a great atmosphere, and the set design delivered on the junkyard theme. There were a lot of locks, but in this room they made complete sense-- of course an iron fence, an office shed, or even an outdoor garbage can in a junkyard would be locked. In this room the locks reinforced the fantasy. But beyond that, the puzzles were creative, thematic, and fun. There was a cooperative puzzle I particularly enjoyed. The finale doubled down on the theme in a cool way. Don't be put off by the "investigating a serial killer" theme-- there's a moment that's a little creepy but nothing truly scary. This was a great room our group of 3 thoroughly enjoyed. I do wish the narrative could have been integrated more tightly into the gameplay. Our host gave us a big info dump after we finished to explain what was going on narratively, and we would have loved those beats to have been delivered by the room itself rather than merely alluded to.

Gameplay

The puzzles flowed very well, with multiple spaces visible but locked, so the player's search space is kept manageable while the room still feels expansive.

Atmosphere

Everything felt like it fit the environment, and the set design did a great job of evoking a junkyard with an impending storm.

Story

The setup didn't quite get paid off by the room itself-- it required a big expository summation from the host after we finished. However, the room itself had a narrative flow that worked even without that summation. But if all that detail could have been delivered more effectively by the room itself, that would be <chef's kiss>.

Very unique story with some satisfying puzzles! Definitely not too scary and more thrilling. Only disappointment was the wear and tear on a few game pieces (paper props/tape) and one lock that was left unlocked that took away a bit of our time which is why I’m not giving it a love. Definitely still worth doing and very inventive escape room!

Really loved the theme and design elements of this room. Fun puzzles and great music. Joseph and his crew took care of us and were amazing. All the puzzles made sense and related to the overall story.

Absolutely loved this room. Well worth the extra few miles that we drove, to get home from summer vacation. This game starts off great and continues to get better throughout. Highly recommend!

The theme of this room and atmosphere is so well done. It’s clear that they have put A LOT of thought into their storyline and everything is very intentional. There were lots of puzzles in here that we haven’t seen in other rooms. It is more creepy than scary. There are multiple tasks that can happen simultaneously and we found 4 to be the perfect number to do this room.

After 2 terrible escape rooms earlier in the day we were directed to masterpiece escape and recommended wrecked. I'm this place was absolutely one of the best if not the best one we've been to. From their customer service, awesome and creative puzzles and detail I would highly recommend this establishment. We've done almost 100 escape rooms in multiple states and will definitely make the almost 2 hour trip back up to do the rest. Top notch πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ”ŸπŸ”ŸπŸ”ŸπŸ”ŸπŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―πŸ’―

We had such a great time! FWIW, I hate room minimums of 3. I get wanting to make money on rooms, but just make it cost a bit more for 2 tickets than for 3. I was very close to not booking just because of this. My wife and I like to play rooms 2 player, and paying for a third ticket we don't need is incredibly galling. That nit-pick aside, the room itself was super fun! We were so curious how the decor was going to evoke a junkyard, but man, it did not disappoint! It was thematic and really well decorated! Quite a few lock and keys used, but a good number of creative electronic elements mixed in to make up for that somewhat. Mostly good puzzles, a few that were a little tedious, but the final room was great! Super cool theme, fun puzzle tie ins, just really well done! First room I've ever done where we had a reset error that interrupted our game, though, lol. I know it can be pretty easy to miss resetting an element, but it took us down a wrong track for a while until our GM realized we weren't supposed to have one item yet, but he got us back on track.
