The Ramen Shop

This room was our kids first room. This is definitely not a room to bring your young children unless they are into puzzles. My 3 year old opened a few boxes and locks after we solved the puzzles. Our 8 year old loves puzzles and really enjoyed this room. He also understood some puzzles that we didn’t see. This is a nonlinear game, but followed the story very well. There is definitely some difficult parts, but it made the game that much more worth it. The GM was passionate about their game and even showed us how to complete a few puzzles. They have another one coming out soon. If you are in Maui this is definitely the room to go too.

Classic escape rooms with a lot of puzzles. Very difficult and barely escaped with 2 people. It was still fun and very challenging.

Cute restaurant theme. Deron, our host, was super chill and helpful. He asked us how much we’d like for him to drop clues, and he obliged. Sort of a tough room for two people, so if you have a third or fourth, you’d probably escape faster than us. Very lock-oriented rooms, which is not necessarily a downside. But older eyes will have a hard time aligning the right code time after time. Original room with unique puzzles. Considering playing the other room too, but time won’t allow us. Thoroughly enjoyed The Ramen Shop.

Good room theming! I was impressed with the setup. I will say that there is A LOT to do in the 60 minutes. I would say have at least 3-4 people. We didn’t get out but we were on the very last item so we were so close. This is a non-linear room and everyone can work on different things, which is important in this room. I would like to try it again if we come back to Maui and see if I can get out fast. 🤣

My husband and I did this on our honeymoon. It was a lot of fun and had a couple clever puzzle mechanics we haven’t seen before. If you’re early, the waiting room is very soothing and is stocked with nice and easy pick-up games. The owners also make chili oil, which we bought a jar of to take home.

Really unique, fun room with puzzles that fit the theme very well, and some really unique elements. A hidden gem!

The owners are very nice and passionate. Parking was a breeze in the new parking garage next door. The set in this room was good. I usually don’t care too much about the story, but this one really pulled you in. I enjoyed a few of the puzzles, but did feel that a few were a bit of a leap and like their other room, I felt that the signposting (knowing what goes with what, and having a logical flow), was just lacking a bit.

Let’s start with the fact that both games at Mystery Maui have some great set design and story. By far the best across Maui and The Big island. With that being said, both games also struggle with signposting and flow. The games are good, have some good puzzles but also a few logical leap ones. The owners are very passionate and pleasant, and parking is a breeze. But back to the rooms, this was my favorite of their two, but again, there were areas for improvement.

Great small business to support! Finding this spot is a little strange (second floor with an entrance in the back). With street parking as you can find it in this little outdoor shopping plaza. Love our GM's Kit and Derin who took it upon themselves to design and build some of these rooms. Even the lobby space is great. Great set design and an improvement to their first build "Stella Superstar". Puzzle felt very innovative and you could tell that Kit was passionate about her work. Theme set in well and ties into the first room with a little easter egg. Loved this room's decor overall and would gladly suggest it to others in the Maui area!

Enjoyed this room and the theme was fun. Unique and creative. Four of us seemed to be a good number.
