Permanently Closed - A world renowned painter, Art the Artist, agreed to lend the Museum of Art one of his most famous works for the grand opening of the Art in Our Time exhibit. The night before the opening, the piece went missing. Desperate to keep the disappearance out of the headlines, the museum has called upon you to figure out what has happened. The painting is insured, but if word gets out that the museum lost a piece, no one will want to lend their works to the Museum of Art ever again! Can your team of wily museum volunteers sort out the mystery and save the day?

I like the Art Gallery Themes. They are less common but always appreciated. Specifically thinking of Norcross@Evil Genius/Off The Couch and Heist@TEG. Too bad this game is closed, I thought it was a fun one. Make way for Grimm!

We were the last folks to play the game before they closed it — and they let us take home props for souvenirs!

My girlfriend said this was one of her favorite rooms because the design truly felt like an art gallery. The music was spot on and it did feel like you couldn’t touch anything which is a weird feeling for an escape room. The GM Matt did say this room will be going down next month so do this one when you have time I highly recommend it! It was a little more difficult with 2 people so I would say 3-4 is good since the room is small. It was not accessible due to only being able to use the stairs. We are excited to come back and try the tipsy tailor with our usual crew and can’t wait to hear when the next room will be open!

Mix of both which I think is cool to me!

Thankfully I read the other comment before coming to see that it is next to the bank so it was easy to find and parking can be a little packed depending when you go.

While doing Tipsy Tailor, we heard this room was a good beginner/two person/date night/family room. So I was curious, and also I love museums. Like Tipsy Tailor, this scored great points for aesthetics. I loved the design and the art! I'm nowhere near a pro, so I enjoyed every puzzle, and my favorite one was such good use of the art theme. There's also a bonus mystery to solve, which was such a fun narrative twist! I'm sad this will be going away but based on how much I loved both of the rooms here, I'm excited for what the owners do next.

The set construction was impressive and really felt like an art museum. The puzzles were okay, but there were too many unnecessary red-herring details in the room for my liking (ex. Set pieces with numbers on them that were not involved in a puzzle) A lighter number of puzzles than the other room Tipsy Tailor, so it often felt like we were investigating puzzles that didn’t exist which feels more frustrating than satisfying.

At first we thought we were part of a heist, then we realized we volunteered ourselves to investigate the scene. It’s an interesting hybrid of themes we’ve seen and it was so much fun. When we started, it felt like we walked into a real gallery, except no alarms would be tripped when we touched anything. Everything in the room made sense; we had an idea what needed to be done and it was satisfying solving each clue. The puzzles are a combination of gen 1-2 sprinkled with simple tech (ie., different lock types). We didn’t use any, but hints are unlimited and are delivered through a speaker system The temperature in the room was okay but lighting in the room might make you sweat even though it was chilly. The room is accessible, except the entire place is on the second floor with no elevator. This place might be tricky to find because the front entrance is nestled within a bank (don’t break into the bank). Parking is pretty crowded but there’s plenty of parking in the back. There’s a lot of food in the area in case you wanted to dine before or after the room. We had an amazing night all thanks to our host Matt!

Gameplay

Very simple and straight to the point. Nothing to cause analysis paralysis. The flow is like a funnel; starts out multi linear then falls into linear. Each puzzle towards the end gains a lot of momentum.

Atmosphere

Clean and pristine condition. Which is what a museum gallery should feel like. And like in any museum, I felt like I wasn’t allowed to touch anything.

Customer service

Our host was Matt and he was super friendly and welcoming. Conversations with him was organic and we definitely had some great laughs!

All in all a fun escape room worth doing. Smaller company that is ran by the two owners. Super nice people. Built everything themselves and did a good job creating an enjoyable escape room. Over priced for two people, but I understand, people need to make a living.
