The Ghost Of Mentryville

This game was so creepy and fun! Our actor was amazing, giving us helpful hints without giving too much away and staying in character. The storyline unfolded in a way that turned the linear gameplay cyclical, and the entire environment of the room was used to great effect linking the miniature versions of each room and the larger equivalent. Overall very charming, high quality props, and well written! Highly recommend for 2 people!

One of the best rooms I’ve ever experienced. A near-perfect blend of gripping story and mind-blowing puzzles, all wrapped up in a super tiny yet dense room. The live actor, the titular Ghost, is the main attraction, and he is amazing. In the room the entire time with you, the Ghost is not there to scare, but there to share. Though our interactions with him were technically brief, he was always there guiding us through his intricate story, filled with surprises, intrigue, and blood. The Ghost masterfully pulled us in to the room, and the central prop, which is creatively woven into the space. I had chills the entire time. While the room itself isn’t technically scary, there are creepy moments, intense drama, and loads of gore. There’s a dreamlike quality that I can’t describe, and I felt comfortable and yet also anxious at the same time, as the story unfolded. The finale will stick in my mind long after today. There’s no game loss condition here, nor a time limit. The ghost will be there with you until you finish the storyline no matter how long it takes. There’s a reason why this small room is rated so highly. It’s worth a trip to see this Ghost. It’s like seeing an old friend again.

What a great room! Firstly, its core design idea —what you’ll experience in terms of the relationship between one central object (here undisclosed!) and the rest of the room—unfolds in an inventive, constantly thrilling way. Secondly, one of the best incorporations of a live actor I’ve experienced. Thirdly, a small space that does an awful lot. Fourthly, a fun, macabre story. Do this room if you can!

Let me start by saying, if you like the idea of an interactive ghost story/puzzles, this is going to be AMAZING. The acting is great, the puzzles are super cool, and the way they’re paced and you’re guided to them is fantastic. Shout out to Perigee, his acting (and particularly his ability to guide us via dialogue without it feeling intrusive) were top-notch! Also, the room really makes the most out of the small space, using clever design to make the adventure feel much more expansive than such a small space should permit. I think our group just realized that we’re SLIGHTLY more into the rooms that are pure escape rooms, so my one warning is, while this is an extremely well-done room, it’s definitely more of an interactive experience than a pure escape room. Would love to do more rooms by this designer !

What a fabulous, immersive room!! The story was top notch and it was such an interesting and fresh take on a Gen1 room. LOVE the live actor at the center of the narrative AND gameplay (shout out to Jack!). Love the story and the brilliant use of every inch of a small space. One of my fav experiences for sure!

Don't worry about following the time and getting lost here, the ghost of Mentryville willl guide you. Very well done room and puzzle design, unique and novel! Shoutout to the live actor giving us his all and interacting with us.

This room, like some other immersive rooms its much more theater with escape elements. There is an actor involved in this room, but the interaction is strictly story driven. Room itself is semi spooky possibly for some, but there's no scary elements just limited to decoration. Atmosphere for the room is excellent, appropriate to the story, and very well done, particularly the table that is a focus for a majority of the room. Keen eyed folks will have their opportunity and another solution. Great room for my 100th!

The Ghost of Mentryville a beautifully crafted game. I would call this room 50% immersive theatre and 50% escape room. They did a great job with the character and storytelling and the craftsmanship in the room was very impressive. It had very good flow and my friend and I both enjoyed it very much. This is a very gen 1 room, but a good one.
