You’re going undercover. Your friend James has gone off the grid and you need to check if he’s OK. You swing by his restaurant – the lights are on but James isn’t home. The door slams shut, trapping you inside. James liked his security high-end. A note on the table tells you that James is actually an international spy – this is all a cover for his espionage escapades. It’s his HQ and he has been snatched by the henchmen of his evil arch-enemy – Mr Supervillain. You must solve all the puzzles and clues in the room and deploy the huge array of gadgets to save your super-spy pal. As well as hardware and gizmos, you’ll need to think with the cunning of an ace agent – logic, speed and daring are required. Great for all the family – 10 to 60 welcome, comfortable clothes are advised.

Excellent game play but an expensive escape room especially for a small team

A solid but unspectacular room. Everything about it— set decorations, puzzles, story— was fine but not amazing. I’m giving it a thumbs up because it was a generally pleasant experience but it Morty had a “meh” option, I’d choose that.

Very linear game so in our group of six, I had a long period where I was standing around waiting for other people to solve a puzzle. One challenge might not be possible with fewer than three people. So three enthusiasts would probably be ideal.

Love all three games at AIM Escape, but the Spy Heroes might be my favourite. If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a real spy in training then I would definitely recommend this game! The puzzles could be a little tricky at times but the GM was on hand to answer our questions via walkie-talkie, she was very friendly and helpful. The set design of the game was also incredible, high tech and very clean.

  • AIM’s games are very tech-driven... and that’s emphatically true of Spy Heroes.
