Step into your own black and white, film noir adventure! You are a private investigator in 1950's New York. One day you receive a letter from Betty McGee - a singer at the notorious Marlowe Hotel. She informs you that the gangster kingpin and hotel owner, Eddie Marlowe, is trying to blackmail her with incriminating material. She needs you to break in and retrieve the documents. You know Eddie is bad news, but you agree to take the case. What secrets await you inside the hotel? How will you locate the photos? What do you really know about Eddie Marlowe?

Super well themed, very fun puzzles. Satisfying and challenging experience - would recommend embracing the black and white aesthetic and dressing the part for the room.

Cipher Room are in a league of their own so compared to their other rooms this one is pretty meh. Compared to anywhere else it would be top tier. Their other rooms have more spark and intrigue compared to this one.

While I have done many detective themed rooms before, this one is the best I have done. The black and white theming was extremely well done and made the room so immersive (definitely dress in black and white as well). The puzzles were challenging as well, although some were quite similar to the puzzles in La Rebellion.

Like all Cipher rooms, I think this room was brilliant. The set and scenic design was fabulous, and I think it's a beautiful room. However I will say, the rooms in Newtown are considerably more forgettable than the ones in St Peters. I think just by default because they are smaller rooms, so they have less to play with. THAT BEING SAID, the puzzles and trajectory are clear as crystal, and still incredibly fun. I really enjoyed the surroundings being all black and white, bonus points if you dress up accordingly too - helps with the immersion experience!et design is phenomenal
