28 escape rooms

Honestly really disappointed in this franchise. Albeit, my group was late. However, we were within the 5-min grace policy and that still ensures we get the ENTIRE game to experience. See there's a little secret to escape rooms for those who don't work the industry. These games are designed for game masters/hosts to take out puzzles to their liking. (Mainly for inexperienced guests) This is typically to ensure guests escape to make them happy. Because my group was late, we got 2-3 experiences/puzzles of the room taken away from us. How are you going to have a heist like this marketed with lasers in photos, but take out that experience entirely?! "We escaped with 19 min remaining!" my butt :(. How do I know it was taken from us? There were clearly tiny reflected mirrors scattered on every wall of the room meant for lasers, and there was something in the room that is very obviously meant to be a puzzle, but was never touched. When we asked about it when the game was over, the game master just gave us a bs answer saying it wasn't a part of the game. (Last time I checked, any part of a escape room that isn't part of a game, either is clearly marked as not part of the game, or mentioned BEFORE the game starts so that it doesnt waste our time). Also want to add that game master wasn't welcoming and practically shoved us into the room even when one of our members was using the restroom before we'd get started.

Gameplay

It started pretty nonlinear which I won't complain of, especially noting that I had a fairly large group, but once it did become linear, there's so many BS unclear hints and details that no one would understand even from a person with many rooms of escape room knowledge.

Atmosphere

So the story essentially is that we are stealing back the Mona Lisa from a billionaire art thief in his private art gallery? You would think a billionaire private gallery would look any bit more... impressive. This room is so minimalistic with just a few relative art pieces hanging on the walls.

Customer service

I understand as a game master myself that you are to speed things up and get in the room asap for a group that is within ur lateness policy and 5-min grace period, but there was no welcoming tone at all, and very dismissive of any questions we had at the end of the room. Even with 19 min remaining on the clock they were trying to get rid of us as soon as possible and kick us out.

Hard

Like I said in a previous prompt of this breakdown, nonlinear rooms tend to be on the easier side since there are just an abundance of puzzles, but soon as it became linear, their linear puzzles had some hints next to the puzzles themselves that were supposedly helpful, but in my opinion, made you focus on the wrong details. This only gets a "hard" rating from me becuz of said linear puzzles.

One of my favorites in the Escapology franchise. I enjoy the themes. Very simple room for seasoned escapers. A good room for children tho. 👍🏽

This one stumped me, I’ve only done a little over 20 rooms but my friend has done over 130 rooms and she said it was difficult. But in all it was fun and I liked the different clues, it was really original and entertaining.
