It's your lucky day! Why win the lottery when you could find a cave full of diamonds? On your way, you find an old glass bottle with a message from several years old. “In all my life, I've never seen anything like it! The legend of the rough diamond was true! I saw it with my own eyes! I went through a lot of obstacles to get there, but her beauty was worth it. I never knew how to get out of this damn cave. To think that I would have become rich! ” So you decide to go on an adventure to find out if the legend that the explorer tells is true. Will you be able to discover the diamond and bring it back to all those who thought you were crazy to discover it? You have 60 minutes to get there.

We switched to this room at the last minute because The Tavern has a hard 3 player gameplay requirement, so we couldn't play that. The set is very rough - there's enough to give the sense of the type of space they were going for, but not much beyond that. It's got the vibe of very early escape rooms that looked like they had been assembled from thrift store finds. It does get a little more interesting in the second area, but still not what I would consider to be immersive. Don't play this room if sets are high on your criteria. Puzzles were OK - they generally made sense, and even the time we needed a hint, in retrospect we thought it was a fair puzzle. Nothing super unusual or interesting, but if you're looking for an old style basic puzzle-y room, The Legend of the Rough Diamond can do that. Other reviews mention locks all being the same type and size - I don't recall this being that much of a problem. There were a lot of locks, and some were the same size (3 digits being very common), but they were generally close to or clear about what they went with. It could be improved for sure (not having that many locks, or labeling them, or having a better variety), but I don't think it was the worst I've seen.

One section requires the entire group to crawl for a short distance. I imagine this could be worked around, but ask them.

There are some restrictions on who can park where in the nearby parking lot, but the staff thoughtfully was able to direct us to a safe area.

I never had a game that had so many locks, it was really impressive. The thing is, the locks were all the same, which means that if we got a 3 number code, we had to test it on 6 locks. It was hard to say if we had to put our energy on this thing our this other thing. The room was surrounded by locks and it was really hard to tell what we had to do. The second room is in the dark, the aesthetic is nice, but we had 5 flashlights to go through the dark, the five of them died during our game. We couldn’t see anything, there was a blue light that was really blinding. The game master wanted to give us more time to finish the game, but it was so overwhelming that we asked him to get out.

A LOT OF LOCKS. Not that much of a problem, the problem was that they were à the same type. Every time we got a 3 numbers code, we had to try it on at least 6-7 different locks. We also didn’t know where to put energy. Second room was in partial dark, we had flash lights, but they were all tired and didn’t really help.
