Great room with good puzzles and amazing immersive props. Unfortunately this was the same room I played in Washington DC with a national chain which I didn’t know about prior due to lack of pictures or images of the room.

Every year we get a chance to play one or two games at the Darkness as we pass though St. Louis. The game had a fun theme and the set design was a decent pirate themed experience. Similar to other games at the darkness there was a mix of generation one puzzles and some tech thoughout the game.

Arrrsome room! Loved the atmosphere and set features! Props were especially good as to be expected from a haunt place. Puzzles were mostly good, particularly an interesting one towards the end. The flow was intuitive even though we missed some things that we needed guidance on. Other rooms at this location are great as well and worth making a voyage to!

This game was good, the puzzles were enjoyable but nothing out of the ordinary. Didn’t like how one puzzle required the use of something we had already used, this was the only thing we needed a clue on. Also this company does restrict clues, just fyi for any beginner teams or teams that prefer free use of clues. The room looked great and was well themed.

Fun room. A bit on the easy side and very low tech. Still fun with plenty for everyone to do. Very intuitive puzzle flow. Game master was excellent.

Must climb steep stairs to get to the venue. Unaware of an elevator or other accommodations.

Cruised through first two rooms and stalled on a puzzle in last room. Even with game master clue and guidance it took 15 minutes to complete last puzzle which was frustrating.

This place has some of the best scenic design I have seen in rooms, but that is definitely the high point compared to the puzzles. My only complaint was this issue with a jammed/broken puzzle. We had completed it, and it didn’t open/drop what it should have. After a few minutes of confusion and some back and forth with the Game Master, they finally came in and tried to play it off like we had done it wrong, but then saw that it was right. After, he banged on it and then jiggled part of it and it dropped and he just walked out. Other than that I still recommend the room and hope that it was just a one of fluke for us, as we still managed to escape.
It was a beautiful design, but a puzzle didn’t work.
Beautiful set design, the last room was my favorite.
For this fame specifically, our Game Master was a bit cold and tried to blame a game error on us. The front desk staff was very friendly though.

One of the puzzles didn’t work, so we asked for a few clues until we told the Game Master that we had been doing that for the past 5 minutes, and he came in a few minutes later, double checked our work in front of us, then banged on it, and then wiggled a drawer loose. It ate up 5-10 minutes.
