The set was executed somewhat simplistically but perfect for the haunted theater theme, very immersive and spooky. They offered to tone down whatever they could if it was too spooky for our liking. Mostly mechanical aspects but executed wonderfully along with tasteful special effects. No puzzle was too complicated and everything was pretty intuitive, medium difficulty but plentiful puzzles. I appreciated the variety of locks, keys, and sensors. There is a multi-step end goal which kept things interesting, and it was very clear that we had won when we finished.
Staff was friendly as always and helpful with the hints. You get 3 hints but they give you opportunities to get more by following them on social media.
Fun gameplay, a good mix of linear and nonlinear puzzles, some with classic vibes and some unique, all themed well for the room. Everything moved in a sensible direction and felt intuitive.
The set was great for the space that they have, very well utilized and immersive. Some special effects throughout the game really pulled it all together.
Particularly interesting or different
Yes
The theme and end goal (the reason why we only had one hour) were very unique, I’ve never seen this done anywhere else.
The story was very clear from beginning to end and we had multiple steps to reach our end goal.
For two experienced players, this room took us 59 minutes, even though we moved through the puzzles pretty fluently. Nothing was particularly difficult but there is a decent amount of ground to cover.
Lots of locks, keys, magnets, drop panels- practical stuff.
2 experienced players can accomplish this room, but divide and conquer with a larger group will ensure the game is completed within the 60 minute time frame.
Physically active
Somewhat
Not a very big space but a lot of moving back and forth
We parked in a multi-level garage down the street, $1.50/hour
