Permanently Closed - It’s one hour to “places” at La Rouge Mystére. Belle, the cabaret’s leading lady, is nowhere to be found. Everyone is worried because strange things have been going on backstage and accidents have been frequent. Her disappearance may be the latest tragedy.

It is up to you, as fellow cast members, to find poor Belle and help her take the stage before the curtain call! Unless, of course, one of you is responsible for her disappearance.

This was such a good game!! The set and sound design were spot on and fully immerse you in the plot from the moment you walk in. My only recommendation would be to bring a group of 4-5 if possible as we felt there was a lot of ground to cover with just 2 people.

First a couple of minor negatives…

This is an older room, and we were told that it was going to be replaced very soon. For these reasons some of the props and decorations (especially in the final part of the game) had seen better days. This did not effect the gameplay or our enjoyment of the room, merely the aesthetics. 

Also, there are several puzzles that, I believe, don’t necessarily NEED to be completed. These puzzles give you hints or tips for solving the main puzzle, and can be ignored if you knew which ones they were. For us this caused a little bit of confusion where we had several “active” puzzles going on and it wasn’t clear which objects went with which puzzle or if there was anything in particular we should be dedicating our attention to. 
Again this was not a huge negative, but it left us with a feeling that we missed something as we advanced through the game and left a few things unresolved. 

Having said all that, we had a really fun time at Mystified and will return next time we are in Mystic!
The room has a good mix of puzzles and is a little tricky, advertised as their “intermediate room. We were told we had 3 hints, which are given by a game master in person who enters the room to nudge you along. Both of our game masters did a great job of steering us in the right direction and then disappearing  without actually giving us answers or telling us what to do. 

If you are only doing one room here, I would recommend the Keeper of the Light, but if you’re doing more than one I recommend this one as well! 
My team will be returning for their other games and I look forward to seeing what this one is replaced with!
