City with No SunNerd EscapesEscape roomIRLOur party of 4 has completed many escape rooms together. This one being completely in the dark from start to end was a welcome challenge! This would not be the best room for a first time experience, and I think a group of 4 is the perfect combination. Having two other people in our group would have been a tight fit and left some people sort of in the way without a task. Our particular room moderator did not seem to be paying attention to us when we asked multiple times how much time was left since we were not allowed to use a clock in this room. Definitely would recommend this one though!
A Study In MurderBull City Escape - DurhamEscape roomIRLThe game has a lot of clues/puzzles to solve. You need at least 4 people to get through all of them. There was one part that was just hard to figure out the numbers needed to unlock that box. I’m not sure we would have ever figured that out on our own.
AlcatrazThe Escape CompanyEscape roomIRLThis room was way too easy for experienced players. We were done so quickly that it did not feel like a good value for our money.
Treasure IslandAll In Adventures - Raleigh [prev. Mystery Room]Escape roomIRLIf you have any experience with a high quality or high tech rooms, then this will location will be very disappointing from the moment the door to the room is opened. The ambiance consists of all fluorescent lights with partitioned walls where you can hear noise in other rooms. I could have created the same experience at home on my own with maps and decor taped to the walls. Multiple locks were used to open the same box and that is just annoying. This was for my son’s birthday, so most of the kids didn’t know that this was a disappointing experience to me and my husband (we of course smiled and made the most of it). The kids still had a good time, but for the same cost as an immersive and high tech room that we are used to experiencing, this was not worth the cost. All of the staff was very kind to us all though.
