The Tears of FreyaMystic Escape Room - DenverEscape roomIRLAfter a couple dozen rooms around the US, this is easily my favorite. It is truly beautiful. It’s challenging but achievable. The ending is very satisfying. The staff is enthusiastic and kind. Even the lounge the room is attached to is charming. We will be hitting up their other rooms next time we are in the area!
Pirates Of The Spanish MainEnigma Adventures - Maple GroveEscape roomIRLThis room is an excellent combo of immersion and interesting puzzles… and pirates. What’s not to love?
Puppet Heist: The Hand Of LifeThe Bureau Adventure GamesEscape roomIRLThis escape room would have been perfectly fun on its own, but the addition of the puppet element really elevated it. A great family friendly room.
Cosmic CrisisThe Escape Game - St. LouisEscape roomIRLThis was a very fun escape room, both in theming and puzzles. And I'm really blown away by the staff here every time.
UFO: Go For LaunchThe Bureau Adventure GamesEscape roomIRLThis room is truly charming. It’s definitely on the simpler side but full of unique and interesting puzzles with such fun theming. We’re definitely coming to The Bureau again next time we’re in Orlando!
Carnival of the CosmosEscape From St. LouisEscape roomIRLWe had a great time! The theming was very cute; it definitely had the vibes of an old carnival. The puzzles were good. They start out straight forward, increase in challenge/complexity as you go, but never get overly frustrating. Our GM, Joni, did a great job keeping us on the right track without ever spoiling the juiciest bits of the puzzle solving. We look forward to doing another room at Escape from St. Louis soon!
Gold RushThe Escape Game - MiamiEscape roomIRLI enjoyed this room a lot. It was for the most part pretty straight forward without any mind blowing puzzles (well and one my husband wishes a slow death upon), but it was a very pleasant solve and stayed very on brand with the theme. It’s a great location with great staff. Giorgio and Mark were very friendly and truly seemed to enjoy being there with us. We had such a good time we opted for a second room right after!
Board to DeathThe Quandary Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis room may be the most delightful surprise in my escape room career. While I rely heavily on Morty and often seek out the absolutely highest rated rooms when I visit a city, doing this room was more spontaneous. We wanted a room near us with a timeslot open in the next hour. Board to Death fit that bill. Based on Morty I expected a cutely themed room with a solid puzzle experience. But what we got was one of our favorite games of all time. The experience starts as soon as you walk in. The staff were friendly and seemed to clearly enjoy their jobs and each other. The waiting area was also totally decked out in games and activities. The room itself is darling. It's nothing big, but the props were all good quality and each portion of the room captured the spirit of the board game it was emulating. The puzzles are fabulous. They're intuitive and logical and clever... and so nostalgic. This is also the place for you if you really like tactile puzzles. There are A LOT of puzzles though. We had 3 and I think could have stood to have one more. And while no specific knowledge of any of the featured games are necessary to solve the puzzles, it will probably help you get through a couple a little quicker. The finish is fun and satisfying. Even the way you ask for clues is completely immersive. If you grew up on classic board games this is a 100% do not miss.
The HeistThe Escape Game - MiamiEscape roomIRLThis was a very polished room with neat props and an exciting finish. The staff we met at the Miami location (Giorgio & Mark I believe) were incredibly friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be working there and with us.
Royal Society of PuzzlesRoyal Caribbean - Wonder of the SeasEscape roomIRLSo this may be a “you get what you pay for.” This isn’t a good escape room. There’s no theme or decor or plot. There are no large & intricate puzzles. You’ll likely have to play with strangers which I don’t enjoy. But at only $10 a person, I’m still of the mindset that a weak escape room is better than no escape room. If you love puzzles and want to kill an hour on your cruise there are worse ways… I just can’t give this room the same “like” rating I’ve given some far superior rooms.
