Distrito 111 [District 111]Unreal Room Escape Sant Martí – BarcelonaEscape roomIRLDistrito 111 was our 4th escape room in Barcelona, and by this point we knew the bar was set very high. The care and attention to detail that goes into these rooms is incredible. But when the vault door into distrito 111 opened me and my partners jaws just dropped. What an opening. Go into this room READY as the game starts as soon as you set foot in the door. From there the game just keeps delivering with surprises and some fun twists on popular Escape Room tropes. Its theme is at this point a staple in the genre and in reality it does very little for me, but the execution and the way the game keeps opening up and opening up and eventually builds to a very frantic finale is very very fun! A most for lovers of dystopian future genre, and it scales very well from 2 players (which we did) into more. Hopefully your GM for this room is as good as Victoria was for us! It became one of if not my favourite room!
ملجأ الأيتام [The Orphanage]Game Over Escape Rooms - Abu DhabiEscape roomIRLA clever room albeit on the easier side. Not too scary, not many jump scares, just creepy atmosphere. A couple of puzzles are quite ingenious, and we really like the solve for them. Unfortunately one of the puzzles was clearly not working as intended and had to be manually activated. Other than that, the game master (Mat) made the experience really good, he was super nice in the beginning and end of the game and during our interactions with him were funny and creepy.
SCP-6112 - The Jorōgumo's WebJikaiEscape roomIRLSome really interesting mechanics, a very interesting plot, but unfortunately it all gets bogged down by an overuse of bad number locks, things that are flat out not working and thing that are just too fragile for escape rooms - this room is practically brand new, there’s no excuse for the amount of broken pieces of set, if it’s too fragile to be handled, just remove it from the scenario. Some puzzles just didn’t work, and we had the game master have to come into our room mid-game THREE times because things just weren’t working (one lock even had the wrong combination, and he had to trial it to get it open - it was lucky we didn’t get stuck there) There’s at least one or two too many puzzles for a 60min room, or the game master didn’t manage the time well enough for us. I’m writing this down in the hopes that other people will get to have a better experience than us. Because there is definitely some good ideias in this room(the story and interactions are really good), unfortunately the execution still needs a lot of improvement.
