女王と国のために [For Queen & Country]Studio Escape NipponbashiEscape roomIRLProduction quality in this room, like all of the Studio Escape rooms, is top notch.
Madame LeClaire and the Seance of DeathStudio Escape NipponbashiEscape roomIRLA solid room, but IMO the weakest of the Studio Escape rooms but that might just be because I don't particularly care for the theme. The spirit medium theme does not lend itself to cool set pieces like the other rooms do. The production quality and the puzzles continue to be top tier.
欲望のダイヤモンド [The Dame & the Diamond] Version 2Studio Escape NipponbashiEscape roomIRLMy favorite of the Studio Escape rooms. I did the first version of it and it had some of the best set designs I've played
The Black WidowEncrypted Escape - Bethesda [prev. Escape Quest]Escape roomIRLA solid room room for beginners but pros will find it too easy. We did it with 7 people and that was way too many folks. 5 people feels right. The flow of puzzles is great for 5 people. I agree with the reviewer that says this room is showing it's age. The tech is there but not outstanding. Overall a solid game but not a must do.
Escape from the Blue RoomReal Escape Game IkebukuroEscape roomIRLDefinitely not for beginners. Staff mentioned there was about a 15% escape rate. With 4 people we kept feeling strapped for time and ended up needing hints for every single puzzle. Every puzzle was interesting and unique so I'm glad to have done the room, but I wish there were half as many puzzles or twice as much time so we could actually try more than one idea before receiving a hint. The puzzles are challenging enough that I feel like more people is better, but the design is also fairly linear which means you'll be crowding around the same puzzle often
Escape from a Silent WorldREAL ESCAPE GAME CROSSING AsakusaEscape roomIRLThis room does one thing and does it the best. If you like asymmetric information communication games, this room (really table) explores that concept fully.
Escape from the Mysterious RoomReal Escape Game IkebukuroEscape roomIRLThis room did one thing well and was the best at it. If you like searching through clues and extreme out of the box thinking (to the point of guess and check) then this room is for you. Unfortunately there is heavy wordplay involved so you will need the help of a Japanese native speaker.
(Shades of) GreyEscape Games FukuokaEscape roomIRLThis was a fun room for two people but the room is showing its age. I recommend this room for folks who have done escape rooms before so the immersion isn't as important. As someone who has done ~40 rooms I'd say this room is medium-hard difficulty. The good: The theming is 100% top notch. It was enjoyable playing with the props and I could tell that a lot of heart went into the build and decor. It was impressive how the props were incorporated into the puzzles. Each puzzle put a smile on my face. The first thing the owner told us was that we needed to use all five senses and I think he executed that idea well. The puzzles had a unique eureka moment. The needs improvement: The owner had to come in and manually trigger some puzzles or manually give us hints, which removes the immersion. He mentioned that he has plans to fix it so that will get better eventually. The room could use some more input clarity. Some of the tools were challenging to use, which we needed a manual hint to get past. Finally, the room could use some wow factor. A big reveal at a key solve (like how some other rooms might drop something from the ceiling or reveal a secret door). Overall, the lack of polish or pizzaz does not take away from the amazing theming and construction of the room. Fixing some of these issues would take the room from great to perfect.
