DraculaNerd EscapesEscape roomIRLReally fun room and different from others we’ve tried. Only criticism is it seemed there weren’t enough puzzles and some felt a little effortless, like barely even a challenge. Which overall meant it felt a bit easy compared to others. But highly recommend cause it’s a very cool experience.
ChernobylNerd EscapesEscape roomIRLEnjoyed this room a lot. This was my 11 year old son’s favorite room! Yes you are locked in a closet in the beginning but they are upfront about that and make sure you are ok with it. Cool use of space and the story is neat. Enjoyed the Russian elements too.
Mansion MurderEscapology - FayettevilleEscape roomIRLWe saved this room for last at this venue because it was supposedly the most difficult. We did need some hints in this room but probably more due to malfunctioning puzzles and poor design compared to other rooms we completed there. It was fun and we all enjoyed it, but it was no one’s favorite in our group of 4. One puzzle in particular was super annoying and didn’t seem to be working correctly. It’s a fine room if you’re an enthusiast and want to complete as many rooms as possible that are good/fine rooms. But I wouldn’t choose this as a first room for a newbie, and nothing about it stands out as great. It’s just Ok.
The ReturnNerd EscapesEscape roomIRLLoved this one! All the rooms at this venue and awesome and the staff is great! Highly recommend.
Mystery of the Mad ScientistWhole Brain EscapeEscape roomIRLLots of reading required. Good communication imperative. None of the puzzles are hard at all. Solve riddles, divide and conquer, and don’t ignore any piece of info you are given. If you do all of that it’s almost too easy but the challenge is in executing the above. Good concept and very well maintained props and room. Some technical elements but mostly locked boxes/drawers and finding keys or combinations to lead to the next one.
The ShowdownNerd EscapesEscape roomIRLLiked but did not love the room. We didn’t have a enough people to do the race/“showdown” which is probably part the appeal for this room. A little frustrating with one of the puzzles which we were able to follow logically but messed up in execution which wasted a lot of time. Another puzzle just was not intuitive but that’s part of the challenge I suppose😀. We were given an extra few minutes to finish because we were so close which I appreciate so much! Failing leaves such a bad taste but even a slightly bogus win is still a win!
Seekers of the Mystic OrbWhole Brain EscapeEscape roomIRLWe thoroughly enjoyed this room. All of the rooms at this venue are lovingly created and maintained, and it shows. If you hate reading written clues with a decent amount of text or if you despise riddles, this entire venue probably isn’t for you. It’s mechanical mostly but there are some fun things added in and it’s not monotonous at all. Fun theme, lovely decor, and just a good experience!
Curse of the Crimson DragonWhole Brain EscapeEscape roomIRLWhole Brain Escapes is a different style of escape room. They are fun and logical. Riddles abound. There is lots of reasoning involved and you have to read stuff! But they are good linear style rooms and the puzzles make sense with no crazy logical leaps or red herrings. We enjoyed this room and completed it with no hints!
Escape from the Black and WhiteAmaze Room EscapesEscape roomIRLRoom had a small footprint but a neat concept. Puzzles were different and unexpected. There was a good flow. There were not as many puzzles as we expected; we were surprised to have escaped because we felt there was more to go. The owner/our GM was awesome. Price was great too. Worth checking out!
Gold Rush CabinEscape Room FayettevilleEscape roomIRLGood but not great. Small footprint. Most puzzles were pretty good but one in particular was annoying. Another puzzle relied heavily on eyesight which was a non-brain related challenge for us. Mesh style room. Worked well for our group of 4. This is a good location with well thought out rooms and good themes. Overall we had fun!
