The Dark ForestHorror StoriesEscape roomIRLI really liked the over all concept of the room with the story and unique setup. Unfortunetally lot of the experience just felt anoying. One of the actors has overdone the scares so much with the touching, constant screaming and chasing that it stopped being scary and it became mostly anoying. Also the whole thing felt quite confusing and repetitive at times, It just didn’t flow very well for us. I think that the experience left me frustrated not because it would be all bad, but because I know that there is such a potential that was not taken advantage of or was interupted by something.
Le Grand Hôtel De ParisThe One EscapeEscape roomIRLI went in with high expectations, and they were greatly exceeded. It was just an incredible adventure - scary, beautiful, funny, and smart. It feels like a dream every time I think back to it.
KURIOSUM - Artifact of DarknessEscape Room WittenEscape roomIRLI was a bit nervous when the confirmation email said that we will get very dirty, but the "dirtyness" actually ended up being very unique way how to guide players, sadly the game breaks this rule of flow throughout. It has one of the most beautifull detailed sets i've ever seen, redicolous amount of lighting and special effects and some good puzzles. Unfortunately there are multiple holes in the story which were all answered by "nobody knows... I guess thats a mystery..." and it really didn't help that you get multiple emails and messages before (and after) the game with long in-character onboarding wich are supose to build up the story but they've mostly just overwhealmed us. You don't get a chance to use the bathroom before the game, but the bathroom is in the building the whole time!! and you can use it after the game. I think they do this not to break the on boarding, but this is really stupid given how hard it is to find a public bathroom in Witten.
IzolaceZtraceni v doměEscape roomIRLThis was just amazing!! The puzzles are so elaborate and well integrated in the story thats essentially being told within another story, all while building the tension until the final second. Nothing there is basic or traditional. It's been over three years since I played it, and I still can't get it out of my head. Too bad this experience isn't avalieble in english :(
Going UndergroundCrime Runners - Branch Alser StrasseEscape roomIRLThis room was little overhyped for me. It features a big set with a simple but effective story. Unfortunatally it left a lot to be desired in the lighting and sound department, it felt like we were playing some kind of a 'lights-on-for-maintenance' version. There was a nice variaty of puzzles mostly on the easier side, some later puzzles were harder usually due to a lack of cues. I’d still recommend checking it out if you’re in Vienna, It would be a great option for beginners.
The Amsterdam CatacombsLogic Locks - The Amsterdam CatacombsEscape roomIRLI played this room with the wrong expectations and, unfortunately, I couldn’t help but feel underwhelmed. So I’d like to set the right expectations for future players going into this experience. It is a unique concept, and I can appreciate it for what it is. Light spoilers ahead: The gameplay area is actually very small, one of the smallest rooms I’ve done in the Netherlands. A large portion of the experience is dedicated to onboarding and story-building, which is done very well, but the buildup isn’t quite balanced with the payoff. I also expected it to be a scary experience with actors, which definitely made me nervous since I’m usually the scared one in the group. Don’t get me wrong the actors do a fantastic job, but the scary moments can be counted on one hand. Tho there is a solo moment for one of the players that I personally found quite uncomfortable. Even though it wasn’t the intense horror escape room I was expecting, I was still able to appreciate the unique gameplay concept, strong acting, and cool location.
Le Taxidermiste [The Taxidermist]Deep InsideEscape roomIRLThis was a very unique experience, that I find hard to rate because there were both great aspects and things I didn’t like. I love the whole concept of Deep Inside. The set is beautiful, the actors are fantastic especially their costumes. I like the story, but the way it was told didn’t flow very well, which was one of the main issues. It often felt like we were either stuck or being interrupted, and it wasn’t always clear what to do next. Don’t go to Deep Inside for the puzzles, go for the theatre.
Het TestamentBaron BeeckmanEscape roomIRLBeautifull, authentic, museum-like location combined with the mechanics in this game is something you can’t really get anywere else. Please find yourelf some dutch speaking friends and play this game because it is special.
ChernobylTheStartEscape roomIRLI was very excited to play Chernobyl espcially after enjoying Harbor Hotel so much, unfortunately It fell a bit short for me. Big part cound have been the unluckines of my group combined with some technical dificulties resulting in a broken flow in the first half. Unlike in Harbor Hotel the actor in this game lacks a bigger purpous for the strory or gameplay, He was really good in his role but felt like an afterthought. Really good energetic intro to build the world, cool inveroment, besides one math flow killer most puzzles were fine.
Es Ist Zurück! [It's Back!]The Code Agency - DüsseldorfEscape roomIRLIf you're going to do this experience just know that there are almoast no puzzles. Treat it more as a hounted house. Its all about the set, acting and story. I ended up liking this experience quite a bit, maybe partly due to my low expectations.
