Mogollon Monster: Scouting for Arizona's BigfootThe Nemesis ClubEscape roomIRLWe'd heard great things about Mogollon Monster, and it met and exceeded our expectations. Inventive puzzles, incredible design and set dreessing and mostly, an original premise that's a well told story. Easily one of the best experiences we've had.
Sal's CyberneticsThe Immersive MachineEscape roomIRLHighly recommend this place to others. It was fun and light, super thoughtfully put together. Can’t wait to check out their new rooms as they come online.
The Whispering HallsEnchambered Live Escape Room AdventureEscape roomIRLThis is another great space from the Enchambered team. Great integration of tech and set building. The flow was a bit tricky - clues were spread out. I wonder if the flow could have been improved a little bit.
The Skull WitchEnchambered Live Escape Room AdventureEscape roomIRLDid this a long time ago, but was blown away by it, and still think about it with some frequency. Great theme, super inventive puzzles, beautiful and immersive design. Super challenging, but thankfully we had a good crew with us.
Trouble In The Toy ShopEnchambered Live Escape Room AdventureEscape roomIRLI love the rooms that the folks at Enchambered offer, always inventive and enjoyable. Trouble in the Toy Shop was a fun time, and was perfect for my goal - bringing an eleven year old to their first escape room experience and having them enjoy it. It's a more simple room than the others at Enchambered, but still the puzzles are fun and novel.
Containment BreachEnchambered Live Escape Room AdventureEscape roomIRLAnother solid offering from Enchambered, though not as mind-blowing as Whispering Halls or Skull Witch. Good puzzles, space was a little cramped, and felt a little aged.
The GiftRed Door Escape Room - SacramentoEscape roomIRLA neat premise, but the holiday element add-on was chintzy. Puzzles were interesting, though didn’t love the hint system, a button and screen system - nothing in theme with the room. Staff were nice enough, though the gm at the end seemed more interested in shoving us of the room as fast as possible rather than making sure that we had a good experience.
Once Upon A TimeRed Door Escape Room - SacramentoEscape roomIRLI liked this room more than The Gift, which we had done a month prior. The GM we had for Once Upon a Time was super friendly and fun. The room was enjoyable, nice that it had distinct areas. The puzzles were pretty inventive and varied. The sets were good, but not the most in-depth. My biggest complaint with Red Door is that you can hear noise from the hallway and other rooms. So when another group finishes and is super amped about it, you can hear them in your room.
TakenRed Door Escape Room - SacramentoEscape roomIRLNice spin on the early part of the game, needing to work in combination with folks in the other room. Lots of locks, some neat puzzles, some straightforward.
Prison BreakRed Door Escape Room - SacramentoEscape roomIRLSolid offering, better than the first two I’d done at Red Door (did The Gift and Once Upon a Time before). The puzzles flowed well from one to the next. The decor was pretty blah and the story was a little confusing.
