Multiple boxes segment the game and allow for the puzzles to flow into one another. It also gatekeeps narrative plot points so that the game can tell a story rather than simply presenting a theme. The experience benefits from being a rental tabletop escape game experience because the parts are that cut above—the variety of props are durable, dynamic and unique. These props couldn’t exist in a purchasable tabletop game because the cost would be astronomical. So, with that in mind, borrow ‘The First of Them’ and enjoy the wonderfully constructed boxes of puzzles and explore the impending apocalypse.
